Wizard Snowball has it spot on. So what? He's 21. Nobody died, nobody got injured, he acted like a bit of an idiot but everyone's entitled to do that once, and who hasn't taken a piss in public at some point? McDermott will have a word for sure, but I'd fully expect him to be a Reading FC player this time next year.
Me, Schards and our 6 kids for a start...
I know nobody died and nobody got injured, but that's not really the point. I know professional footballers have a few drinks when they're not playing, and, yes, Robin Friday - in this day and age, would be pilloried for some of the escapades he got up to - but in those days, they weren't paid anything like players get paid these days, they weren't given strict diets to adhere to and also these days, RFC have a real "clean" ethos about the club - as long as what the players do, they do in private without drawing attention to themselves, the club can't complain. To be playing the tw@t in public and then to be fined for urinating in a public place goes against the image the club are trying to foster. They know the rules, if they break them, they should expect a dressing down. And, it makes me laugh when it's players like Morrison, who I don't even think I've seen play for us, who think they're something special and behave in such a way. I'm sure McD will have a few stern words for him and I hope he grows up a bit. Shane Long was a kid when he joined, swiftly became a regular first team player but you never heard a whiff of what he got up to - Morrison should take a leaf out of his book.
