The likelihood now is that unless a player leaves we will only buy one more. I personally don't think chalobah will come as he will not be guaranteed first team football. So it will be 1 striker because it is a necessity and we are running out of time and we don't think there is much money left in the kitty it will probably be someone from the English lower leagues or a foreign signing none of us have ever heard of. All we have to do is hope it pays off.

This site seems to try and list movement in and out of clubs, but does seem to have some errors

RFC need an Alfie type goal poacher as the chances are there for someone who is a natural goal scorer, who RFC does not seem to currently have.

Reckon RFC needs a solid goalkeeper and striker.

The big bit of business still to be done is to find someone willing to pay for HRK, get rid, fee up salary and a provide small budget to actually pay for a decent striker. Then IMHO all our business is done.

As an aside, I am still not actually convinced Clarke is the man for the job but needs to be given a run of 10 league games then lets see.

No Fixed Abode
Mr.Swainey This sounds like a topic Kes would start about immigration.

I can see the similarities. Flooding the team with new players is never a good thing. An addition of 2 or 3 well skilled players who are of benefit to the team works best.

Touche.

Waxy
SCIAG I think we probably signed more players than we strictly needed to already. I'd be perfectly happy if we'd only added Quinn, Sa, Bond and Taylor, the others have just been bonuses.

Clarke said in his last interview that we released about 14 players and have only signed around 7, so there's plenty of room to add player for a greater depth. I think a lot of players we released went unnoticed as they were just dead wood. After Fernandez I would just like to see another real goalscorer. Sa is really good in my opinion but he's not a 20 goal a season player. I think he will contribute but his best attributes are when the balls at his feet. In my time supporting reading I've never seen a player move the ball as well as he can at his feet.

we had too many anyway and that probably includes some younger players who'll have been replaced by a new intake of 1st year scholars.

We needed to replace Fed, Andersen, Pearce, Karacan / Guthrie / Akpan and then add a left back, winger of some description and a striker to score goals.

If we can serve Sa then we've basically done that and a bit more. But bringing in much more than that risks too much change at once and rebloating the squad.

signibgs for signings sake isn't good. We needed to fix the major weaknesses, see what that did and then plan the next phase.

"We're searching Europe for a striker" says Lady Sasima, given that Bristol City are reported to have paid Brentford a £9m bid for striker Andre Gray, it is not surprising that RFC feel that there is better value outside UK for a "proven" goalscorer. Interesting to see that Michail Antonio is linked with other clubs already, if only he had remained!

GetReading report today that Clarke still plans to bring in 2 or 3 more, including a striker. And Chalobah is still expected to arrive soon.
Seems a bit like old news but they are presenting it as an update....

2 or 3 more from here seems like overkill

I'd agree.
2 maybe (if we accept Chalobah coming) and a striker.
Unless there is a deal in the offing for a 'significant' player to move out, and we've heard nothing at all to suggest that.

Yup, seems a bit much now. A striker sure, but after that it feels a bit like new players for new players sake.
