Stockport Royal I think we should now drop the use of the words win, lose and draw and results with this new green, red and yellow system.

Although we're coming off a tasty 5 game green streak, i'd take a yellow if you offered it me now for Saturday, but I fear we may replicate last year's red.

Last year was quite a deep red though, considering we were quite a decent green midway through the match.

The emotions of falling from a neon green to a deep maroon, a horrible day.

Snowball The BFTG thread on Burton/Bristol has some talking about a reality check. Whether winning against a decent side who were top six early on is "great" good, or OK, the your pick, but I thought I would check who we are beating, drawing with, losing to, and (if you ignore we are getting better every game) the figures are illuminating

1-4 Newcastle (A)
2-2 Brighton (H)
0-0 Birmingham (H)

?-? Leeds
1-0 Huddersfield (H)
?-? Wednesday
?-? Norwich
1-1 Derby (H)
0-5 Fulham
1-2 Villa (H)
=================================
1-0 Preston (H)
2-1 Bristol (H)
2-1 Ipswich (H)

1-1 QPR (A)
1-4 Brentford (A)
2-0 Forest (H)
2-1 Barnsley (A)
3-0 Burton (H)

?-? Blackburn (A)
0-2 Wolves (A)

3-0 Wigan (A)
1-0 Cardiff (A)
1-0 Rotherham (A)

That is just one win against teams from the current top 11

9 of our 10 league wins are against the bottom 13.

Mind you, as things stand we also can say we have only had one defeat by a team from the top ten. (2/11)

Clearly, the games against Leeds, Norwich, Fulham and Wednesday will be revealing. If we avoid defeat in these, or lose just once

And worse...

Next week will be the real test. We were totally outplayed on Saturday (and I've only just thawed out)......if that happens again against Wednesday, then the reality of our position will be clearer. Fulham is hopefully just one of those results (as Jaap said). I am a little worried it was more than that.

Agreed that the game against Wednesday is now pivotal. A sorry defeat and we will then almost certainly lose at Leeds and fail to beat Norwich or the Fulham second leg.

If we bounce back and win, all should be well.

Three games, six points, still third. Title winning form, that's one hell of a reality check.

Having been in the top six for the last six games, with a gap of 6 points down to 7th and with almost half the season gone, I think it's time to accept we possibly aren't in a false position. Baffling as that is given we don't really have a main goalscorer and how much of a shambles we've been for three or four years.

I think it was entirely reasonable to expect us to not maintain this position (although why you'd be interested in complaining about it rather than enjoying it whilst it lasted is beyond me)... but we're getting to a point where we ought to be thinking we really are this good. You don't win more than half your games by fluke. So what if we occasionally get dicked along the way.

I'd still rather we didn't get promoted this season because we could be better prepared to make it stick next year. But this certainly makes a change to having weekends regularly ruined.

Yep, very "false" :|

Four points above 4th place and 6 points behind relegated Newcastle who almost everyone saw as Championship favourites before a ball had been kicked.

After 20 games, in what is a very tough division this season, all those in the top 6 thoroughly deserve to be there and that includes us regardless of what some of our delusional fans choose to believe.

Top 6 position for 6 weeks now.

Top half position since August.

We are in a good place; and deservedly so.

I would love to beat Leeds at their place and give their lot a royality check.

Now we just have to keep it running nicely through the next 5 games and into transfer window territory....

He was still right because one of our goals was a deflection and Sheff Wed had lots of shots and a couple of players missing.
