Jerry St Clair Sometimes people need to be reminded of their own ignorance - if others keep quiet it gives them a belief that their opinions are acceptable.
In the early, Burns years, at the Mad I was leaving an evening game (a pitiful crowd of about 8,000 IIRC) when this lad queuing down the steps to get out started complaining about "the number of blacks in the team, that's why we're rubbish". I pointed out that his view was idiocy and that he was a twat. He looked genuinely horrified. I followed him (not intentionally, you understand) back to the speedway car park and he barely said another word all the way back.

Huntley & Palmer I must put my hands up and admit to be a racist during the game today. When Carlton Cole was moaning to the ref about a decision I derided him verbally and loudly whilst thinking he was Marlon Harewood. The chap next to me kindly pointed out that he was in fact Carlton Cole, they all look the same to me was my reply.

What is so strange about West Ham is that the area seems about 90% non-white but the fans inside are nearly all white.

Jerry St Clair Exhibit A: A group of West Ham fans walking up to the ground from the tube. One, reading his programme says, "Oh god, have you seen who the ref is"? His mate responds in the negative to which the other responds "I'll give you a clue, he's a big blackie......".![]()
Well, in true Alan Partridge style, sir, Seol Had The Last Laugh.

It's a phenomenon known as 'White Flight'. I get so angry when, supposedly inteligent people can't see the way the country's going.
