Royal With Cheese
Royal Lady Thank the Lord we've got Thorvaldsson. Quite why we've taken him on loan, unless it was to stop someone else signing him because he's "one for the future", I do not know.

That's slightly harsh RL. His signing corresponded with our meteoric rise up the league. He wasn't responcible for it and in many ways ended up a victim of it.

Agreed, and he came here at a time when our strikers couldn't hit a barn door. Church and Long have improved massivly since the turn of the year, and Rasiak has scored his share tbf. It wouldn't have broke the bank to bring Thor in on loan and have a good assessment of his abilities.

I am also desperately unhappy with the amount of starts he has made; he has made far too many for my liking. Desperate signing by ROFLodgers, but I spose he scored one or two important goals along the way. Ship out in the summer, please. He plays like he has rigor mortis.

He doesn't fit our style at all either.

We are all about pace and mobilty.

Thor was obviously someone who they had seen something in, wanted to have a closer look at and was cheap. We decided to focus our spending on Griff and Kish, we couldn't afford better, so we took a small risk. It hasn't worked and he will go the way of most of our loan signings. Dobson/Obinna etc....

SpaceCruiser Phillips is past it now.

Look at the stats, we've scored 56 goals so far this season and 28 of them are between Rasiak, Long and Church. Rasiak isn't even a regular, so how do you expect him to score more than 9 goals?

Having said that, we do need somebody to bang in 20 goals. Sigurdsson has come close to that.

Agreed. Its also fair to say that if either Long or Church started most games this season they would be close to the 20 goal mark come the end of the season. They have both been on the bench for a fair amount of time this season.

But for me that's exactly why he's worth keeping (unless he's on big wages). I think he's pretty good in the air and works well as a target man for others to play off, so bringing him on from the bench will give the team another option if hitting people with pace & mobility isn't working, which it won't do every time. All good teams should have a plan B - think of Rasiak as a poor mans Bendtner.

Happy with the comments. Players should want to play, and he's hardly throwing his toys out of the pram. Since January he's had the right attitude too in my view. Grabbed a few goals when he gets his chances, what more can he do?

i dont see what the issue is. there would be serious problems if we had a player who is happy not playing. this is simply showing the commitment all players should have by wanting to play

think he should definitely be here next season as he adds a good backup option if long/ church arent fit or playing well. also with the constant doubts of nhunt i dont think we can really afford to lose a proven strike like rasiak.

hes a brilliant target man and although i dont like the long ball style that clearly suits him best he is very good at it and i dont think our other strikers can really fit his role so he is important to the team.

i do believe we need a new striker for next season unless hunt can prove he is going to be fit for next season as we are currently a bit short in striking options.

Okay as plan c, but his inability to run or jump is a problem.

I am also unhappy with it - he has had FAR too many for a player of no talent, no speed, and no touch.

I think plan b would be more of a smash em up centre forward. I'd actually describe him as a poor mans Zlatan. He's got a great touch and some of his flicks when they come off are great.

For a plan b, i'd actually have Bignall ahead of him.

4 goals in 15 games is not a bad return for a 36 year old playing in the premiership who never starts but comes off the bench :?

Although not as good as 9 from 28 !

Rasiak and Church is, in my opinion, the best partnership we have at the moment. I think it'd be foolish to let him go.

Not played consistently in a decent set up with the service he needs, still 9 goals.

A useful player. Not someone I'd necessarily say warrants more start, certainly in the current set up. He's not a player to play up on his own. But then perhaps we should have been playing two up more.

Idiot Reading fans on Rasiak's back - we'd have been dead an buried at Christmas if it wasn't for him - if Church and Long could finish off as high a percentage of chances as him we'd be in the playoffs already.

Done a good job with the opportunities he's had as far as I can tell, ready and willing to play every game, keen and injury free.
Why would we be keen to sell him?.
I'm a little concerned about the expectations of Noel Hunt, is he really as good as what several people say?, or expectations similar to that of Matějovský for
example It's Alright having the potential, but unless it's realised it's not doing us any good, so I'm happy for Rasiak to stay until we can get a reliable alternative.

Unhappy at not playing more? This is good. Gives the fans the impression he is not just here for the money. What we need is more players with this attitude.

I disagree that Long is good enough- you wouldn't have been saying that 2 months ago and when was the last time he's scored? He's not prolific enough- Church will only get better and is a better all around player than Long. Rasiak is bloomin useless only gets tap ins- comedy to watch but in no shape or form a championship-winning striker. Need to sign- take a closer look at Thor- he looked decent for the 2 minutes ive seen of him!
