Jackson Corner Shame there is not more telling the casual passer buy who Robin was and what a legend he was in these parts.
Might be intentional, A plaque for Robin Friday, familly member not Robin Friday footballer.

Ups and Downs I met his wife (mother of the girl who can often be seen at football) in the Forresters Arms a few weeks back. They have a bit called Fridays Bar in there and I got chatting to her about Robin Friday. Lovely lady! And a bit of a GILF, if i do say.

Tell me you didn't???? Not even you.................

No, but I would do, given half a chance. She must have been mid fifties but she was telling me she worked out quite a lot. She also told me a few stories, confirmed other ones I had heard and went on to say that is was all sex, drugs and rock and roll back then. i considered her offering he that now but without the music part but it was a family christening.

Gav Excuse my ignorance, but why is the tree all the way out in Ealing? Is that just where his family were living at the time? Seems a bit of a random location.

He just played football for us, he wasn't a local !!
He was from the Acton/ Ealing area and came to our attention when playing for Hayes. I believe his ashes are interred at Ealing Crematorium (?)

I believe, you believe wrongly.

Correct location is Breakspear Crematorium, Ruislip.

Those anonymous West London outer suburbs are all essentially interchangeable.

How nice for him to rest in a crematorium sponsored by a brewery though !!!

Ta for that. As I'm regularly in those parts, I will certainly go and take a look.

Watch it!!

Outer North West London (Ruislip) is far superior to West London (Ealing)!!

What's more, Breakspear Crematorium is virtually in countryside.

A football ground next door (Hillingdon Borough) and friends and family may have had a drink to celebrate his life at The Woodman nearby.

Very fitting though that his final resting place does share a name with a brewery - I suspect he would have enjoyed that final twist.

Used to be my route to work, literally following the boundary between city and country from the M40 to Bushey. I will indeed concede that it's a fairly pleasant part of the urban sprawl .....

I presume he doesn't have a plaque at Breakspear? Practically all my family have been cremated there.

You have to pay for the plaque and rose bush or whatever. After 10 years you have to renew it. My aunt has my nan and grandad's plaques in her garden now.
