brendywendy if he wants the money hes put in back, plus a little profit for the ten+ years of utter grief and constant abuse from fans, then i say fair play to him.

brendywendy you only need to look at the posh result at teh weekend to see that a club that sells its best players every year, can still out compete, quite massively, teams that buy 10 new players a season

Finch The moment Stoke and Wigan get relegated (which will happen at some point) will be the end for their ambitions. They'll be skint and in unsustainable debt for years ala Sheff Utd

That would depend on the contract details with all their players and their ability to sell off their better players for decent fee's.
With the amount of revenue coming in through the parachute payments for relegated clubs I don't think we'll see clubs struggle with their finances in quite the same way as some.
You only have to look at how Newcastle and West Ham have coped with going down to see that it's not impossible to get the balance right.

Firstly, lets wait and see where 'Posh are come the end of the season as people's comments thus far about our policy are taking a long term view, not just as a reaction to a one-off loss to Barnsley.
Secondly, they haven't actually sold off all their best players (nor have we) as they've still got the likes of Boyd, Lewis and McCann and Tomlin. They even went so far as keeping MacKail-Smith for a season under lots of interest last year(they've also lost McLean of course).

Newcastle and West Ham were and are relying on going straight back up. If they don't the two dildo sellers will lose a lot of money.

mr_number On a slightly different note, does anyone remember when the last big anti-SJM thing was - must have been before Pardew... There was some home game where a load of people ran onto the pitch - any idea which match it was?

mr_number Nah, there was a big pitch invasion just after we moved to the Madejski I think where half the East stand ran over to the dugouts.
