Huntley & Palmer RFC fans aren't happy unless they are booing someone. FACT

Imagine how I feel - got there after Oster's name was read out and didn't see Madejski come on the pitch either.

Obviously I booed at 2-1 down but that only lasted a minute. Gutted.

Had to settle for booing Shane Long in the end. Boooooooo.

the people that were booing were they relativley new to the club or have they forgotten what Madejski has done for the club.

No Madejski no Reading FC its that simple

Hes entitled to his own opinion and you are yours but I would suggest that his opinion is the only one that really matters

This may have already been mentioned on here but I try my hardest not to read through pages of crap on here and just skip to the end.

Bloody Madejski apologists!

If it was 1939 you'd have let Hitler get away with Poland with your appeasement policies...

Mr Mad might want us to think that - and plenty are apparently happy to go along with it - but that's just not true.

RFC managed well over 100 years without him, and it will still be around when he's long gone.

The fact we'd managed well over 100 years before him, the question is though if he hadn't have come in when he did would we have managed for much longer?

And if we had would the club look anything like today?

chandog the fans want him out...

I'm not sure whether to laugh, cry, call him a rude name or just leave it be.

I think laughing is probably the best option.

What on Earth has that got to do with Madejski?

Obviously things would be different (and quite probably worse) if he had never come along, but to say No Madejski = No RFC is wrong.

My recollection is that Roger Smee was witin 24 hours of winding the club up when he asked JM to take it off him for a nominal fee. If that is the case then it is quite realistic to say that no JM = no RFC.

You must be reading something into "managed well over 100 years" that simply isn't there.

Really? even though i have now lost contact with him, (Roger Smee's nephew) i may have to see if this was the case.

IMO anyone who booed on Saturday is an absolute disgrace and not a true fan.

Anyone who has supported Reading for more than a few years will realise how much JM has done for the club. Without him there may well be no club at all and certainly not one that has reached 8th in PL. We would probably have been in administration and who knows what division we would be in.

JM astute financial dealings have got the club to where it is and I suspect the root of the booing is simply jealously that JM has pocketed the cash from recent sales. Well so what if he has. He took the risk of taking on Reading when no one else would and he has used his business acumen to build the club to what it is.

And if we can sell a player like Sonko for £2M profit and buy a player like say N.Hunt for £600K then that looks like excellent business to me.

True but does that give him the right to implicitly criticise our level of support when for the most part he sits completely still in the Directors box. At least Delia Smith sings and waves her scarf about and had some justification. If JM wants to imitate her he needs to be seen to get behind the team as well.

Schards#2 Madejski deserves total respect for what he did from the moment he took over until about a year ago.

Since then, he's made it clear he wants out and his runnng of the club has reflected that. The suporters don't want out, they are still investing in the club season in and season out and rightly feel insulted by being asked by Madejski to up their game.

He been a hero of this club but Steve Bull is a Wolves legend and they don't play him up front any more.

What a disappointing post this turned out to be after such an informed start.

You lavishly spend either £600 on a season ticket or £20 per week to watch football. What kind of investment is that?

How many units do you get for your money?

You choose to spend rediculous amounts of money watching 22 lads kick a bag of air around, and you think this ranks as an investment?

Did you EVER realise that when you buy a meal in your favourite restaurant you are also flambuoyantly (in some eyes) doing the same as paying to watch football?

You don't become a qualified stakeholder in Wetherspoons because you paid £5.99 for the Burger and a pint meal deal. Similarly, you don't have a say in whether or not they paint the toilets sky blue pink; decide to exclusively sell only Greek food, or insist on shifting happy hour from 3pm to 4pm.

The difference is that you can complain. If there is no change, you can vote with your wallett and eat elsewhere. The exclusivity of your choice in football club does not entitle you to anything other than the standard of football you decide to pay for week in week out.

As 16,000 odd Reading fans turned up on Saturday, and saw us win in entertaining style, I am guessing that there aren't so many disenfranchised (sp?) supporters out there that are prepared to vote with their wallett.

Perhaps his request that we up our game was a little twee in some eyes, but sod it, when the bloke stood up in front of the same fans 12 months ago he was treated like a king, and not much in the way he practices has changed at all.

Oops, sorry, it did change a bit, he threw £3.5 million at a duff player which so far has bitten him in the arse.

How fickle can some people be?

12 months ago he was a king, just remember that.

RL - thanks for reading as my posting has been so sub standard lately.

Be careful for what you wish for.

I'd rather have John M with his ocassional odd-ball quotes and purse strings then some of his peers especially under the current ecomonic climate.

A big LOL @ anyone who thinks he's not behind the team. What exactly has he been bank-rolling for nigh on 20 years?
