TBF at the moment he isn't going to play. We have three decent creative players in Marek, Sig and Howard and we're struggling to fit them in. Davies would be better suited to a wide midfield role than any of those three. But at the same time, he is much more raw than all three of them as well.

Whilst he offers a little something different going forward, all of them are currently ahead of him in terms of overall quality.

Playing is important for Davies at the moment. I have faith he'll make it with us, but his time isn't quite here. He's unfortunate we have so many decent midfielders really.

winchester_royal I'd rather see Karacan in for Howard. One of our better performers this season and he provides a bit more hard work and steel alongside Matejovsky.

He's also clearly part of the squad. Did you see the way he sprinted over to jump on Jobi when he scored?

That's a point actually, the spirit in the side looks fantastic, the reaction when they score shows how much they care.
LOL! I loved seeing that. They should do it more. It's as entertaining as seeing the goal go in.
They would do it more often if they could manage to find the net !

The reaction when they score is one of surprise that they have actually managed to score a goal and they have forgotten how to celebrate :D

As far as a new striker coming in on loan is concerned, we will only get one if either Rasiak, Church or Long pick up a long term injury.

I have a feeling that the cloth has been cut so much that there is no money to be had.

Demonstrably wrong. There was £2 million plus waiting for Smith. That would fund a very tasty season long loan.

Where are you getting £2m+ from? The most I've seen suggested was £1.8m

Back to what this thread should be about.....

Both Davies and Antonio score for their respective clubs in the first round proper of the FA cup.

How many goals and man of the match performances is that for Davies now?

I don't know, but I would still love to have Davies back for us. He would have been very useful for those free-kicks and he could have played down the wing.

Davies is a potentially major asset for us, but early season the problem was playing too many "potentials" in the same team. Once Kara, Gylfi and Church are more firmly established Scott will fit in really well. I guess we all have to be patient, which can be difficult when you're in a relegation battle.

This.

I think BR has used the loan system very well. We've seen with Long how someone can stall if they are not playing, Davies could be sat on our bench and playing reserves. Banging them in for Wycombe is 100x better for him though.

I'd seriously consider getting Jem out for a mnth.

The wage bill at RFC is still in the top 10 in the CCC. So although it's substantially lower than it was in the PL it's still pretty high for Tier 1.

I am talking about the here and now. Not August! In any event, Rasiak and MacAnuff came in AFTER the TS farce and they weren't free either - 2 lots of wages and signing on fees if I am not mistaken!

SJM WILL NOT RELEASE ANY MORE FUNDS TO BR. END OF.

And why hasn't Shane Long ever been sent out on loan? I really do not understand.

Which positions do you think need strengthening and / or improving?

At right back, we have a midfielder doing the square peg round hole bit, Kelly and Cummings in reserve so nothing will happen.

We have enough cover at CB. LB though leaves us short if Plastic gets crocked. But Tabb, Kelly and Armstrong will cover (if fit or needed)

We have more central midfielders than you can shake a stick at. We also have cover and options out wide.

Up front we have 3 plus 3 currently out on loan.

Why would we sign someone on loan?
