Deee…fukkin…delighted. This record means a lot to us that were part of it.

Can see it falling (soonish) in seasons to come…….the £ that accompanies the relegated Premier teams (like Burnley) helps them retain a Premiership squad…..and have the choice and ability to hire and fire quality managers.

Meantime it’s OURS ….give no interest to the Wrexham talk-up bull sh1t

The BBC have had a love in with Wrexham for weeks

Hopefully when FFP has to be adhered to in the EFL the Hollywood circus will get bored sim to Salford and Crawley who bought their way out.

Feel sorry for Notts Co - that's a proper achievement

Yeah in all the fawning over Wrexham, everyone seems to be ignoring that they've won the National on a League 1 budget.

I guess if they weren't Hollywood actors, we're be hearing about how foreign owners are ruining the game, especially considering they took over ownership from a supporters' Trust.

I also suspect that the plan is to flog the club, because, whilst they are rich by your average person's standards, I don't see them being able to sustain the sort of losses that come with playing at a higher level.

Will be interesting to see how they fair in L2 - there is a strict limit that wages cannot be more than 55% of turnover.

Wrexham had a turnover of 5.9m in the latest accounts and football costs of 3.9m - that is for last season. Some sources show a wage bill for players of 3.6m - if accurate then that is 61% of turnover, so they would be in breach of L2 rules.

The owners have been loaning money to date but if they choose to make a donation next season, that can be included in the turnover calculation and "artificially" increase that the amount that can be paid on wages.

Always slightly bemused at how old Wrexham are. Formed in 1864, they're the third oldest professional association football team in the world.

Ignoring the slightly dubious claims of Palace and Stoke, they'll be the oldest professional football league club next season. Really hoping Notts County can come up through the play-offs and scupper that stat.

karbota Wow, Wrexham has smashed our proud record with 3 games to go! Parky is surely now in line for the Reading job.

The post that finally got me to block karbota lmao, just sick of your dumb obsession with Parky being our manager and Wrexham haven't beaten our EFL points record, they've beaten the National League record.

It wasn't all the racist stuff he spouts that caused you to block him?

I largely ignored him but a lot of the Phil Parkinson stuff was very race related which didn't help at all.

The extent of the Wrexham love-in is insane.

Here's a graph showing daily Wikipedia page views (as a local regression) for each club in the Premier League, us (we're typical for a club that's been in the Championship for the entire period) and Wrexham since July 2015 (which acts as a good proxy for media attention at a given time, especially sustained media attention):

Wrexham are now getting more daily views than Liverpool on average  . Completely unearned levels of attention.

He's more famous for doing shit Tik Toks of Mika songs with Will Ferrell now, isn't he?

I've got nothing against Wrexham or Reynolds just the bullshit around their "fairytale" promotion.

First became aware of Ryan Reynolds as "Scarlett Johansson's husband". Now know him for Deadpool.

Rob McElhenney is much less famous. Like probably everyone who has heard of him, I know him for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which I would describe as an edgy American Only Fools and Horses set in an Irish bar.

I should have blocked him for all the racism, but I just ignored him, dunno why the Wrexham and Parky obsession is what pushed me over the edge.
