I'm not saying its an excuse just stating facts, I still expected us to get a draw regardless. We had just 1 clear cut chance, which isnt good enough.

We've got 16 days until the next game to put it right, everything's fine, we're still 13th. Relax!

zac naloen Anyone else think Reading may have shown the toll from 3 premiership games in 7 days?

No. What I do think is that we've all been spoilt by the best season in the club's history and that we've only played three games in the Premiership and already won one. Take a deep breath and relax. What exactly were you all expecting?
I think we were expecting not to play crap. It's not the result, it's the way it was reached that's galling. I'm not worried yet, though, and if you look at the table, there are eighteen teams on four or less points. That'll obviously change, but it's bound to be 15 or 16 by the end of the weekend. I see a lot of teams struggling to get settled.

If you feel the players gave 100% but lost 1-0, or 6-0 - you can't really complain - it's when you watch them and feel some of them haven't given of their best which is the most galling.

Be fair, they must have been far more tired than Wigan players after playing midweek with ten men.

I didn't actually say that's my opinion of the players who played today, did I?

Wigan are still traditionally a Rugby League town and until recently could not attract more than 10,000.

Sharpy oxf*rd sake, lack of depth in the squad is showing!! sodje and inga obviously not upfor the task!!

What a load of bollox.
Sodje looked quite good, not the best but he done his job well. Ingimarsson has been our best player over the two games so far. Lita should of scored in the final minutes but Kirkland made himself big and denied us an equaliser.

7 Hahnemann, probably MOM, some great saves, no chance with the goal
5 Murty, didn't venture forward, looked outpaced by all the Wigan strikers
6.5 Shorey, a few runs forward
6 Sodje, got better as game went on
6 Ingamarson, did well in the air, not so good with players running at him
4 Convey, who ?
5 Harper, gave the ball away often, didn't see many tackles apart from foul on the edge of the box.
6 Sidwell, Best of the midfield, closed down players quickly and tried to join in with the forwards
5 Seoul, Not a bad start got predictable, and then faded
5 Lita, Kept on ging away pointless free kicks against kirkland at corners and should of done better at the end.
6 Doyle, looked lively first 20 minutes, then faded as did the team

6 Hunt, Looked more dangerous than convey in the short time he played.
5 Oster, very little time to show much
Shane Long, great bit of skill by the corner flag, cross straight at kirkland tho

Verdict, We looked like a tired outfit, Wigan had more energy than us, they battled for every ball and kept it well. We just didn't have anyone up front that could hold the ball up well, so that the wingers could get into the play. At the back we missed Sonko as Heskey was causing huge problems in the air, and to be honest we probably got off lightly with 1-0.

With Kitson saying on Soccer A.M he might not be back until we play tottenham november 12th, I wouldn't be suprised if Coppell went into transfer market for a target man

My 2 pence worth

My man at the match would dispute most of that actually.

Look how well they've done since Brian Noble took over, though.
