I thought the EP had reported he had got clearance. And surely, he could have just turned up and not played?

How do you know he wasn't there.

I saw Doyle at the side of the pitch but he didn't play. Hahnemann played the first 20 minutes or so, so it maybe Wolves didn't want Doyle to play and only wanted Hahnemann to play a short while.

It was good fun though - not too serious and nice to see some old faces.

They didn't announce the attendance. Cant have been more than 8,000, which is a real shame for such a Reading legend.

It was a great night. Seeing Curo, Parkinson, Hunter, Howie, Butler, Salako etc again brought back great memories, and all the old chants came out full flow again.

Having the chance to say good bye to USA was also special. Shame Wolves didn't give Doyle permission, as we didn't really get a chance to cheer him off.

A great night out. I laughed a lot at Murty and Little delivering that take away (like the dominos thing a few years ago, but from Murtys favorite chinese in Reading apparently.)

Oh. And the Davies goal. Wow.

Bignall looked like he could be pretty interesting, as did Robson-Kanu (which as I'd heard from my Swindon STH 'friend' he was rubbish, I was pleasantly surprised.) Sigurdson looked pretty good at distributing the ball, and when he got the ball going forwards, Bertrand also looked pretty good. Granted, there was no real competition, but it will be interesting to see how they fare.

A pretty naff night I thought TBH. Particularly in the second half when it was the second string from both sides.

Real shame for Murts that he didn't get a competitive game against decent opposition.

Obviously it was lower tempo and the challenges were mostly lighter but nevertheless there was a good feel
about the desire to play football, and the fact that all the players seemed happy to receive the ball.

Henry seemed to be involved in everything first half (playing middle/left) and both he and Church
looked promising. Tabb was busy, too and Pearce looked like he was born to be a centre-back.

The new left-back looks very confident.

Pitch looked excellent

To be fair I think that although it would have be nice to have a big club there, and maybe would have got a bigger crowd, having the 05/06 team there pkus some old faces worked pretty well. It would have been more competitive as you've said, but you wouldn't have had, say, Murty taking Celtic's penalty for them. I enjoyed it.

Well I enjoyed the game. Especially the little banter between Kingsley and Murts. From a future standpoint, was pretty impressed with Robson-Kanu rinsing Shorey a few times, Matejovsky's passing (4-3-3 or 4-4-1-1 definitely suited him better) and Bignall at times. Definitely had a powerful shot and tons of pace, but didn't have the best accuracy or touch, so I hope that will improve before he challenges for the first team. Davies goal was very good. Great move finished with a great shot. Only disappointment was Curo's shooting, not sure why Norwich would keep him after missing the sitter from Cisse's mistake.

Oh, and any news on Harper, Kebe and SHunt? SHunt was at the game tonight but in shirt and trousers, so wondering whether he was actually injured or not, but I'm skeptical on the other two absences...

As a game it was tame, but great to see Sidders and Shorey entering into the spirit.
As aforementioned, nice to see USA get his farewells, equally good were the cameos from Martin Butler, Sammy Igoe, Kevin Watson and of course Parky.

All in all a good bit of fun.

However  Well done Reading......you even manged to spoil it tonight. The lack of p.a in the Eaststand during the prematch introductions, meant that most sat there neither knew what was going on, nor who was playing. Also, was it really necessary to charge £7 for the car parking tonight?

Farewell Murtz, its been great.

Oh and a major, major LOLZ at the idiot at the bottom of the west stand near the NW corner.

'We're the right side, we're the right side......' over, and over again non stop.

In terms of the players......Henry, R-K, Church, Davies and Siggers all looked good. Bertrand also looked lively.

Murty your a true legend.

I hope the kids in our squad look up to you and try and aim to come close to your standing within this club.

Really enjoyed it
Great to see Curo, Igoe, Sidwell, Butler, Shorey etc - Kevin Watson still looked class
For the curremt team, impressed with Hal R-K especially, also Church, Tabb, Henry, Siggurdson, Bernard, Davies, Hamer, Pearce
SHunt, Harps and Kebe injured - if they are off to Sweden tomorrow then fair enough. I wonder if Shunt will go. Doyle was there, also Adie Williams
Great to see Noel Hunt back too
