Gutted for McIntyre. He was supremely proud to be an Academy product. Shame we lost him the way that we did, and shame he's not kicked on. He'll be at Swindon next season, or somewhere like that.

He’ll move for sure but wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back here.

Whilst I love him, with his injury record, I hope not.

And what were Pompey expecting for just £75000? Apparently he’s now so far down the pecking order at Fratton you need a telescope to see him. Even midfielder Marlon Pack was getting a game at CB ahead of him at Xmas!

He was still on loan at Charlton but just didn’t make the matchday squad again.

Really don’t want him back with his injury record.

I still think Holmes and McIntyre were ruined by their last few years with us, particularly the Ince season. Confidence on the floor and their development was completely stunted, and it's gone on so long now it's a long road back. In a different context, they could have had a career like Pearce, Cooper or Dickie.

Add in McIntyre's injury record and it's a clear no.

Meatwad No 'new' news as it were haha but just wanted to tell everyone about the time I met Bobby Convey and had a prolonged conversation with him on our favorite club:

First, he is the main reason I became a fan. Back in 2005, I had just graduated from High School a few months earlier and went to a college to play American football; and tbh was not that huge of a football/ soccer :) fan. One day in the common room of my dormitory, a couple of others in my same residence hall were watching a game. They asked if I wanted to watch it with them, their was an American for one of the teams if that helped haha. I said sure!

It was the Royals home to Hull CIty. Lo and behold Convey scored in the 7th minute I think it was and I just simply loved watching the fans and how exciting it looked for those in attendance. First ever Reading goal I saw being scored by a fellow American automatically made him my favorite player haha.

Fast forward almost 12 years later and there was a meet and greet of current/former USA players near me. Of course, I had to go as Bobby was announced as one of the attendees. I wore my Reading shirt and he smiled and noticed right away of course. We started talking about the club, his time there, and any funny stories that he had. He did tell me one about him and Kitson but not sure fully appropriate to put on the forum haha.

Overall, a fantastic dude and wished he had been here longer.

That said, yeah, cheers for the story. When I was in NY, I saw a lad in a Reading shirt by the bar, turns out he was from Pennsylvania. Like that we've got these clusters of fans out there.

I'd kinda hope so. There's a Reading United in PA, maybe we have / should have an informal link with them?

Are we sensing a Sheeran / Elton / Robbie Wiiliams opportunity here? Does West Reading PA have a Battle Hospital?

Haha, have actually been to Reading, PA before. Pretty cool place from what I remember(Its essentially a suburb of Philly).

And as another poster eluded to above, their way more fans over here I am sure than people realize; key is to find them and as head of the North America Supporter's Group, I am trying my best haha.

Need to somehow get Bobby's phone number and get his assistance... :D

Don't forget the ice hockey team -

The Reading Royals are a professional ice hockey team that currently plays in the ECHL. The team participates in the North Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference. The Royals play their home games at the Santander Arena located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania.

If they open a Reading FC bar there I'm all up for a trip. New Orleans is meant to be one of the best US cities to visit and was already on my list to tick off.

There's a cop film with Jon Voight and he gets sent to hide in Reading. He's not happy.

"The pagoda's nice. and they've done up downtown".

All I'm saying is we need a twin pagoda.

Not an ex player, but after presiding over tumultuous eras for Reading and West Brom and overseeing spending that was seen as irresponsible even by Saudi league standards, Gourlay has been appointed CEO of Valencia. He must have an exceptionally agent given his failures can all be seen in the public domain.

Watched 'The Madness' on Netflix when the action switches to Reading, PA.....

Sadly all that was featured was a compound in the forest inhabited by an anarchist gun commune.....

Don't need one of those...
