if you were going to drop either it should have been gorkss, if thats the wrong side for marriappa- gorkss should stay in the team

so far marriappa has been questionable for a few goals, so has gorkss, and pearce has done feckk all wrong

whe'll fight his way back again though, hes done it before, he'll do it again

Looked our best centre half so far, where has he gone? Not in squad for last 2 games, not seen anything to say he is injured, another bust up?

Report before QPR was he was out due to injury. Pearce has looked our best CB IMO. Followed by Morrison based on a very limited one game.

So basically Mariappa should have gone to Arsenal or Newcastle when they were linked with him?

Most players in a better team will perform better, up their game or be carried so weaknesses aren't as obvious.

I don't think this guy is getting enough credit for his contribution to the team, better and better with each game. Solid defender who quietly goes about his business.

Mariappa reminds me a hell of a lot like Ingimarsson, in play that is.

I remember a fantastic moment against Chelsea. Torres through on goal giving it all of his world class pace, but Mariappa was straight on him, keeping up with him, if not outpacing him saving what would be a certain goal.

Musts have really dented his confidence being completely cancelled out for pace. How often does that happen to him?

Fae, Halford, Mills, Gunter & Mariappa. Christ on a bike, out of the other 4 it's Mills FFS!

+1. Solid and dependable. And unlike Pearce, doesn't have a tendency to push players in the back in the penalty box (how Pearce is subtle enough to keep getting away with this I have no idea, but it a relief)

Agreed. It's almost as though that was the joke.

Outstanding in last few games. He has football skills which none of our other CB's possess. A different kind of player. Roll on Mapps.
