Adkins IN -

at least until he has had a chance to show what he can do under proper stable ownership.

So what is the point of Jake Taylor sitting on the bench every week and collecting wages for doing nothing?
I do feel that Adkins just doesn't understand what playing in central midfield is all about.
You don't play centre-backs on the wing or full-backs as strikers-it's a very specialised area where you need to be agile and strong.

Obita and McAnuff are fine out wide as there is usually only one opposition player to worry about but they are lost in the congested area of a midfield where a good first touch and some tackling ability are imperative.
It also requires spacial awareness and the ability to pass and move.

Jake Taylor is a central midfielder, as is Ledge,so why not start with those two with (preferably) McCleary wide right and either McAnuff or Obita wide left?
That brings shape to a side even if there are doubts about experience and fitness-Adkins was happy to play Hector there with no experience of the position at all which again makes me think that Adkins just doesn't understand what is needed for that key position and you just don't put your two favourites in there and hope for the best.
Shape is very important IMHO and last night we had none-the set-up was Sunday League with the bandaged Gorkss playing ahead of a now fit Morrison and Gorkss' early header was by a player wary of heading the ball.

All of this is not "after the event" as we were stunned when the eleven trotted out and wondered how it would all pan out.
Fortunately (or not, depending on your view) we didn't concede 6 or 7 which, with more accuracy from the Bournemouth strikers, could easily have happened.
This was a night a bit like that one at Oxford before Bullivant got his taxi-a gutless effort which is unforgivable and effort always has to be a bare minimum.
I swear that I did see Jobi, Drenthe and Obita make two tackles each in the game (Obita got booked for one of his) but HRK made none and for him anything less than a 90/10 challenge in his favour he bottles and the word coward comes to mind.

I thought the verdicts of last night's performance couldn't get any more damning and then I read the comparison to Reading under Terry "know what I mean" The Taxi. If this Reading team is really as bad as under Bullivant then thank God I live in Australia, and I don't even like Australia.

Strangely, the BBC says we had more possession.

Was this so?

I think he has been a disaster. With a good squad he has managed to make us a lot worse than when we got relegated. His performance in the premiership with us was poor but we all believed he was re-building. We have ended up with a totally de-motivated squad and fans. A very poor team. Yes he has had limitations on bringing in players but so have most of the other teams in this league. That performance last night summed up his achievements. Can you wonder why Macleary is fed up and that some of the players may not want to play at the moment. I don't believe some of these injuries.

I am dreading our next home game where the pressure on the players will be immense.

"Treated" my son to what is a local game for us, "don't worry says I, it will be way better than the Yeovil game" It was not, I don't understand how or why Adkins is lauded as a coach/manager and he seldom does anything to convince me of otherwise. Very, very poor and little sense of improvement IMHO

We do have a good squad with players who have played at the highest level, some who are internationals, including others who have experience and winners medals at this level as well. An injury crisis doesn't mean that we have a poor squad it just means that we have a lot of injuries.

bobby1413 Started drinking at 1130am and carried on. Stupidly got another 8 cans of Stella for journey home which I can't remember.

Apparently I talked utter shit to someone on the train who didn't know how to reply to me.

In work this morning for about 730 and been told I stink of stale beer.

Bad times
