Yes agree completely with last point - streams are like sky red button - one camera angle only and its impossible to pass a proper judgement on tactics as the camera follows the ball.
I rarley post my opinions on the games anymore as I get irritated by the stream/red button crew
Royals TV has 4 camera angles, not Sky quality production but hardly one man with a camcorder.
No replacement for being there but an excellent service nonetheless. You do get a good feel for what's going on, you can form just as differing opinion in the stadium as watching online.
Yeah, TV vs stadium is the same as it's always been. Less good for off the ball related stuff and much less fun, but much better for on the ball moments in general and key incidents.
It also depends where you sit in the stadium for how well you can see game. Near the halfway line midway up the stand and you've got a pretty good view of everything. Either end of the stadium and you can't really see what happens at the other end clearly. Near the pitch and you can't really see the other side well and don't have the elevation for shape and off the ball stuff.

If you were there yesterday and anywhere near Y24 you'd have seen the priceless moment when Boro had a corner and their player kicked the flag post instead of the ball , which rolled forward a few yards, Boro player stopped we nicked the ball , ref played on the Boro player then clattered our lad to the floor for a foul....the reaction from the crowd and the laughter you only get by being there

paultheroyalAthleticoSpizz Bouzanis, poor kicking?
What angle did you watch your tv from?
From the ground….
His kicking (normally whilst being put under pressure) was pretty much spot-on.
Couple of crucial saves and claims
Happy with this #2 keeper
Hoilett 8/10 was brilliant in the first half
I was shocked at that comment too. We actually commented how good his kicking was. Funny how some see things totally differently

windermereROYAL The highest possession we`ve had in 3 home games is 39% vs Cardiff it was 27% yesterday, brilliant to get 3 wins, but if we keep giving away 70% the better teams will certainly hurt us.
Yes there is an excuse because there were some tired legs out there,, but we need to get in faces in the middle of the park like we did so effectively during the week.

I have always felt that the reason why people see things differently in a player is because of the first impression he gives to you. If a good impression, you notice his good actions, if average to bad impression, you are more likely to notice the mistakes/bad actions.

3points Possession stats are also seemingly skewed when defending a lead. If a side is chasing a game you’d expect them to have the ball more. Though 27% is low in any circumstance. But, as Stam proved, possession isn’t everything. When Leicester won the PL didn’t they have possession in the high 30s throughout the course of the season?

blythspartan When we got beat 7-1 at Norwich back in 2017 didn’t we have about 80% possession? It means bugger all if you can’t do anything with it.

AthleticoSpizz As already stated, a lot of his kicking was carried-out whilst being put under pressure….nice to see that he can use both feet.
Yes some of the kicking went deep into the oppositions half, but still normally achieved a hooped shirt, allbeit not one in the best position to make much of it.
And yes, he (especially in the second half) sometimes kicked too far in front of our cf’s, but also a lot of that very same thing came from our back line desperately clearing it.

Good point although we had 56% possession that day

I think it's safe to say that regularly getting less than 40% possession at home is very unlikely to sustain positive results for long.
As we've seen in the past, having 50-60 % possession doesn’t do you much good if its all slow and in your half. But much more than that and it is likely to start to tell.
There's a reason it's usually noteworthy when a team wins with less than 40% possession... it's not very common.
