Sad lack of ambition - or weird mind games?

Sam Tubber
2 world wars, 1 world cup Another thread being hijacked for the benefit of Harold's daily orgasm.

Is HNA going to do something about this sort of fishing from pathetic lonely indivuals with a chip on their shoulder against RFC or HNA (or both) or are droves of us going to be put off visiting HNA?

It's getting tiresome.

Sort it out please HNA.

LOL. Just because you can't take them doesn't mean Harold's contributions are any less relevant. He merely provides a needed reality check.

My post was a perfectly valid comment. Just because you geeks cry if someone merely criticises your club, its not my fault.

Got to rush out now - meeting Tredder for a pint.

I would. Similar sized clubs.

Huntley & Palmer
c) i would say they are bothered but just don't wish to whip the fans up into a frenzy by stating it. Just think, the players or staff say that we are gunning for it. We miss out by a long margin, fans start questioning the team's commitment etc

A very intelligent post H&P. I feel that we are already very excited about the possibility of europe and if Coppell and Dillon went on about it it could produce a kind of delirium. This saturday's game is so crucial. If we don't win I would say that our chance might have gone. If we win I think we may well do it...

Totally agree. Saturday is a massive game.

I am interested, though, as to what would constitute a decent level of ambition for the average fan on this board. Look at what people have said over the past few years-

After appointing Pardew as manager - Cheap option. No experience. Lack of ambition.

Failure to keep hold of Pardew - Fantastic manager. Should have offered him far far more money. Lack of ambition.

Appointment of Coppell - Poor choice. Lack of ambition.

Selling Forster (and Hughes!?) and buying some unknown Irish lad - We're going to get relegated. 1 million for Lita is too much. Lack of ambition.

After reaching the Premiership and not splashing the cash - We'll never compete. Lack of ambition.

On proving everyone wrong and being 7th midway through March - Should be hyping Europe constantly. Lack of ambition.

I really hope Coppell doesn't play 4-5-1 away at Athletico Madrid next season...that'd really show lack of ambition...

Sad but very true - can you picture next season if we don't play to the same level and struggle to make the same impact. I'm sure there'll be booing after three games - give some football fans an inch and they'll take a mile.

I think that a HNA user-names amnesty is in order to be honest. I am just as guilty myself of multi-posting, as I also post under the user names Spacecruiser, Royal Rother, Woodcote Royal, Royal Lady, Pontius and Harold

in all seriousness though it IS a massive game - in the (probably slightly misquoted) words of SSC himself, "every Premiership game is a cup final to us"

...and rightly or wrongly I think MANY people feel there's a lot more riding on the outcome of this game than just the nominal 3 points we stand to lose or gain. For a start if we lose to Portsmouth, they will become only the second team to beat us home and away in the Premiership...

Good point, both Wigan and Watford have appeared in major cup finals unlike Reading.

We have appeared in the Simod Cup final. And won it. Also been in two play-off finals too.

A cup which was, of course, desgned to limit the whole in English Football left by the European ban - at a time when English clubs won almost every European Trophy.

We were effectively European Champions elect...

How anyone can judge the football club as lacking in ambition is beyond me.

Dillon is right, European football may be a distraction we don't need just yet.

Even the Royal Engineers have won the FA Cup, and don't get me started on Accrington Stanley.
