Well done STAR.
If it wasn't for the Irish players, we'd be absolutely nowhere!

Much laughter at the 'English' or whoever they represent... getting an absolute boner over nothing.

Party's over boys.

I am Irish and I don't celebrate St Patrick's Day and I find it amusing that anyone else sees it as anything more than an excuse (and who needs one?) for a few beers. People love 'themed' parties though and ... that's it really. Every Irish Pub in Germany will be packed with Germans next Tuesday - last Tuesday, those same pubs were very far from full. 'Celebrate' the day, don't celebrate the day, whatever ... but the righteous indignation is hilarious.

Incidentally, since my time in Barcelona I have celebrated Sant Jordi. Men buy women a rose, women buy men a book - it's a good deal but one, I fear, which would not seem at all attractive to one or two of the idiots who have posted on this thread.

Yes, and who was it who killed those British soldiers this week?

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Irish people celebrating their national day. Far from it. I just don't see the need for them to try and ram it down the throats of and ENGLISH football team.

Although of course no one is doing that....

And what it has to do with the murders in Northern Ireland escapes me.... daft attempt to appear 'political' by Kes there.

Would you like a white or a red rose? It should be red but I thought I should offer you the choice.

readingbedding The Club and STAR feel that if it wasn't for the Irish players, this 'English' club would be royally phucked.
I guess they're right, how many goals have been scored by Englishmen this season?
Not many.
Because of this it's only correct that the appropriate gratitude should be given to them.
Perhaps more than once a year though.

The biggest problem is the Irish left wing.

Which politically is not something I ever thought I'd say.

... and I thought this would all be a bit of fun - what did I know??? seems like any other chance for a "themed" matchday is usually greeted with wild enthusiasm by Hob Nobbers.

The idea was to show our appreciation for the Irish players contribution on a day they would most probably be celebrating themselves were they not such "highly tuned athletes" and can't get ratted as several posters seem to suggest we all should.

Join in or not as you wish - the choice is yours!!

STAR, the idea was excellent. This lot (most of them) are just miserable (and nasty) b@stards

The gesture is about READING FC (and an excellent one), a nice bit of encouragement for the Oirish boys
that would gee them up (and the rest of the team) I think the idea is great, distinctive

It would be brill to do a similar thing Bastille Day or whenever, if we had three frenchman playing

Ignore the knockers. They are sad
