Sutekh Nigel Clough simply said the Mansfield performance was error strewn, pathetic and inexcusable.

That should motivate them to improve

He's OOC in 6 weeks. Not sure he cares.

Rovers and Burton are 5pts behind. Mansfield are all but safe, which I'd imagine is part of the problem

Chronic write up of Nigel’s list of woes.

Have to agree with him, but then great credit to Reading to force them into those errors and to then capitalise.

Generally Clough is a superb manager and gets teams playing in the right way, has had decent success in his career and would have welcomed him had he ever got the Reading gig.

From Despair To Where? During the game, both. Bemoaning the fact they gifted us 5 goals but commenting that we just took every chance handed to us.

Hurts more because Reading didn't have to do anything really, certainly didnt break a sweat did they

To me it felt like we gifted them every goal through errors we made in our defensive third. The scoreline makes it look as though they bossed the game but they created little by themselves

TBF there were some rather more complimentary comments from their fans on Twitter. Praised us for fully capitalising on their mistakes, Praise for Wing's goal and also some praise of Wareham and the way he made their defenders' lives a misery throughout.

Their forum is quite a depressing place currently. Generally moaning about the state of the club, management, certain players etc. eg.

I could go into a lot of details but...

The substitution of Kofi Shaw was the most ridiculous substitution in my 50 plus years of supporting Rovers. Fing ridiculous. We ended up with Dewsbury and Connor Taylor up-front. Wow!

Post-match Chris Lines and James Wilson basically summed up that the club is rotten to the core.

I was determined to sort out a protest, but our support base is so deflated to make this a realistic proposition. Nothing today.

I think that we are doomed. Ageing and passive fanbase. Clowns at the top.

Not a lot about Reading beyond Pereira being class, keeping RFC in it and that Reading were just clinical and Rovers wasteful. Pretty much the same impression for any that watched the game.

Aging fan base? That’s a new one on me! True dinosaurs, then. Shame, I always found Rovers fans to be more grounded and approachable than the City lot who, even thirty years ago, were obsessed with the notion their club was a sleeping giant that was just a couple of signings away from top flight football.

Rovers fans definitely more decent than the Brizzle Shitty ones. Some of our fans were probably goading a bit too much to get a reaction which would provoke trouble for most fans tbh.

I had no issues from Rover's fans either in the "home fans only" pub I went to with my mate, or in their bar just behind the terrace, or on the terrace during the game.

Genuine football fans, and I will probably go to a couple of their evening games next season.
