Why should we think you are better at assessing Team of the Week than a committee of journos/ex-payers?
Because I pay more attention to Championship football than they do.
Next you'll be telling me that I have to defer to Alan Shearer's opinion on MoTD. Where did that Ben Arthur guy come from anyway?
By the way, I don't deny Harte's had a great start and it's looking like a pretty good piece of business (let's put aside for a minute that we should have strengthened further in the transfer window). I'm just not going to support my opinion by noting that it coincides with the Team of the Week panel. I rate my argumentative skills too highly to cheapen them.
So selection for Team of the Week is totally random, then.
It could just as easily be 8 Bristol City players and 3 from Crystal Palace.
Thanks for clarifying.
My judgment of Harte is based on:
(a) A very well-taken penalty, a penalty he virtually insisted on taking.
(b) One excellent free-kick which went in.
(c) A few free kicks that went close
(d) Some solid defensive play, unflappability and being part of 3 blank sheets in six games.
(e) Some very solid passing and a few brilliant balls from deep, esp to Kebe.
(f) Excellent follow-up play like the recent 25 yard shot that went just wide.
(g) The fact that the manager picks him over Armstrong
(h) And THEN the fact that he has made Team of the Week twice in four weekends.
So, as well as my own subjective judgment, I have the "support" of Mac's team-selection, the stats, and lastly, his two selections for TotW
