1973 - Princess Anne's wedding - signed Robin Friday;
1986 - Prince Andrew's wedding - got promoted to Div 2;
1999 - Prince Edward's wedding - Alan Pardew became Reading manager;
2005 - Prince Charles' wedding - record breaking season.

sandman Because Long gave an interview in the paper a few weeks ago where he said that he doesn't mind if he fails to score another goal this season and we go up. He hasn't scored since.

Ian RoyalBig Ern 5th time lucky.
Law of averages suggests 4 attempts should result in one win.
Not about averages though is it... it's about being the better team.

Svlad Cjelli I've just realised I do have one legitimate reason.
In 1988 I went to Wembley and saw the League Cup Final - then later that season I went back to Wembley and saw Reading win.
Since then, I've never seen another League Cup Final live at Wembley - until this season!!! It was even Arsenal on the losing side both times.

Ian Royal Having got to the play offs I think our best hope has to be that we're genuinely difficult to beat. By most accounts we were poor at Leeds and still came out with a draw. Certainly that was the case against Coventry.
Of the potential play off sides we've lost the fewest games -> except QPR obviously, who've lost 5.
Swansea (14), Cardiff (12), Leeds (12), Forest (11), Reading (9)
