It was an interesting article and kind of reminds us of what many have been saying all season. Based on our performances, our position in the table has always looked unfathomable, but now we have got to the end we have just concluded after 46 games that the table doesn't lie. Stam must be a genius. We have clearly done something right even if it doesn't look right to the eye of us wily football supporters. What that all means as far as our chances in the play-offs are concerned, I have no idea. Have we just been extremely lucky? Will our luck run out? Will we stay lucky? Or is there something about the way we go about our business that is genuine and consistently victorious even if it just doesn't look right whether you look at it statistically or even just based on how you interpret our performances. Most of us have felt bored at the Mad Stad this season passing around the back going nowhere fast, hardly having shots on goal and then scratching our heads when we have won the game.

It has just been utterly strange!

Shall I deal with this one? - OK, it's the same as the link on the previous page.

Article goes into ludicrous depth to explain how on earth we finished in false 3rd, when we are so bad about just everything except keeping a lead.

Let's hope the guys concentrate on playing football and don't worry too much about the "Total Shots Ratio".

"Reading looks like the outlier in the playoffs" LOL :D

This site doesn't like to open the previous page... didn't see the link before.

Once it breaks down the face value of the stats (the things above, which are what most people are echoing tbf..) into more detail then you start to get some of the substance, which is pretty fair. All in all, I've seen much worse.

I think the stat about our win percentage when we take the lead is pretty staggering to be honest. Off the top of my head, is it Brighton at home and Derby away the only games we didn't win after leading? That's incredibly good.

I think its also true a massive area for improvement next year is how we play when we do go a goal down, especially against the better sides who have often picked us off on the counter when we go chasing the game, and we get completely lost once we go 2 down.

Yep, and you could argue we were very unfortunate not to beat Brighton. If we could maintain something close to such a record next year (assuming we don't go up), and improve our record at coming from behind in games as you say, it would bode rather well for another very successful season.

On the other hand, I do find it staggering how we concede so many after going behind, even when the opponents only have 35% possession - somehow in that short amount of time they manage to carve out more clear cut chances than they were doing against us in previous seasons! That's another area with massive potential for improvement...

Probably need to look at where we tend to give away the ball to answer that. Off the top of my head, I think a lot of goals conceded this year have come from us giving the ball away cheaply either in our own half or around half way, leaving players out of position and open to a counter. As a result, teams have been getting chances without really having to "earn" many of them.

After reading that article and having heard Neil Warmocks comments. I revise our chances. We are now rated at 10% to knock Fulham out on the Top Flight index.

What is the criteria for the scoring of the top flight index?

Just like the polls, Standard and Poors etc... The Top Flight index cannot be taken seriously. The criteria is seriously flawed and the index is often misused. Currently the Top Flight index is being misused to add pressure to Fulham so don't place bets on it.

Stranded If we score first on Saturday, then based on what we have seen this season, we are almost certain to come back with a lead.
