Royal Rotherpapereyes I actually think the imbeciles are the ones who prattle on about having faith but each to their own.
What is your definition of faith in this context? (Are you referring to faith in the management, or what?)
What is wrong with putting faith in a manager who has brought success to the club? Admittedly most managers do go past their sell-by date eventually - do you really think Coppell has gone past his and that a ruthless cull is required rather than trusting him to sort it out either this or next season?
Faith is belief without question, basically, and I simply think that a healthy questioning of decisions/motivations/what our plans our is part and parcel of being a fan.
To consistently go on that we/I should have faith when I have my doubts on some aspects of how the club is being run at the moment and good reasons for those doubts just seems really stupid. Over the summer, it was clear (to me) that we were going to struggle and no amount of faith in the management was going to change that, given that they had already made misteps and even mistakes.
That said, I really don't want Coppell to go. To change? Yes. To learn from this season? Yes. Likewise, I'd like to see the management above and around Coppell to take a look at this season and make suitable decisions and improvements. The only caveat to this is if I've utterly underestimated the financial disparity in the league and whether 19th is a relative success given our finances and status. I personally think we can compete with the team around and slightly above us and, with a bit of luck, we need not struggle.
