I take your point and would like to see Karacan being every chance to thrive in the centre of midfield as well as Davis or Matejovsky having a good extended go just behind the loan striker. Tabb has done well for us so far also.

Wouldn't it be great though to have somebody as good as Sidwell in yesterday's formation? We are going to buy some players and you never go wrong being strong in the centre of midfield.

I'd much rather we bought players we needed, like a striker, winger, right back or centreback than hoard all of the championship's central midfielders.

What better time to try out players he wasn't quite certain would be up to Champ level? And it's another week for the likes of NHunt, Harper and Marek to get fit.

It looks clear we won't see Church, Armstrong or Henry starting though. I'm a little disappointed by that on at least two fronts.

Matejovsky was due to start, but a minor groin injury meant he didn't play as they didn't want to take the risk.
