Has Wareham signed a deal with us then? Was on trial earlier in the summer.

Did anyone watch the game? Anybody particularly stand out at all? I'm gathering as he scored twice that Wareham looked dangerous.

Next fixture is on Sunday at Bearwood against Palace (1pm)

OS actually has the Stoke result up, naff all else about the game though.

After 1 game Reading now equal 6th in the table (Man City are bottom (26th) with a -5 GD).

Reading Academy on Twitter actually provided reasonable coverage for a change -

We wondered the same. Assume that trialists can't appear in league games whatever the level? And they named him on the team sheet (rather than Trialist A)

I hope we have signed him as he had the 'look' of a striker when he came on at Sutton

Any info on him, where was he before he fell into this shambles?

Apparently, Billy Clarke is a former Brighton youngster who’s on trial.

He's 20 and born in Ascot, came through at Woking and was in the first team squad starting a couple of games at 17/18 years old. Chelsea liked what they saw and signed him to their Academy. Played 27 games in PL2, scoring 8 (or one every 146 minutes).

Went on loan to Orient beginning of last year but found it hard to break into the side as they were doing so well, only getting 2 starts in the league before returning to Chelsea in January. Scored twice in a win over Sutton in the EFL Trophy.

Definitely got talent and surprised he has been here since at least the Sutton game, also played at Weymouth, without signing a deal - would have thought he would have seen other interest from L1 or at least L2 - being local may play in our favour.

Been here since at least the Weymouth game - Brighton signed him from Whitehawk - was a feelgood story of local lad shining in NL and getting a move to a PL club - decent record for their U18 - 5 goals and an assist in 11 games. Must like the look of him to have him around still.

Match report confirms Wareham is still on trial - https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2023/a ... y-reading/

Must be firm interest on both sides for him to still be here, or zero interest in him from elsewhere but if he starts scoring regularly for us, that may well change.

Second one is a peach and the first showed good instincts.

Arrangements to watch the home game this Sunday in the PL 2 at Bearwood are the same as last season. Season ticket holders have to phone the ticket office pay £5 for the privilege of attending and printing the ticket at home. See you all there on Sunday !!
