West Stand Flash So you actually think we will miss Harper Finerain??

Both the team and the club will- because of his personality and his ability. He's had one bad season and you guys think he's shocking, completely fickle.

Like i said, good enough for sheffield utd and wolves, yet not good enough for us....go figure.

As for who would I have dropped- hindsight is a wonderful thing, what about the previous 3 games?

Dont get me wrong, he has the best personality in Football & seems an awesome guy, but facts are he has done sweet FA for 2 seasons now, goes missing in gmaes & does nothing.

Yes he has a good engine, but is pretty slow, cannot tackle & never scores. So tell me what he brings to our side?

Stooper Loan deals do not have a window.

HTH.

Depends on the type of loan.

winchester_royal Apparently Rosie's agent has confirmed his move on talksport.

WTF is going on? Fcuking tell us something RFC you muppets.

Hammonds too embarrassed to admit he has yet again failed to bring in players as per Rodgers statement of "I will still look to have four of five players in before Tuesday. Two are a formality then we will work toward getting maybe another three or four players in before Tuesday."

Royal Rother
Tamworth_Royal Your wildly optimistic if you think these kids would ever get us to the Premiership...

And I'm sure you were wildly optimistic in August 2005 that a bunch of players with no realistic aspirations to be anthing more than League 1 / Championship players at best, in Murty, Harper, Sonko, Sidwell, Doyle, Lita, Kitson, Convey et al would get us there weren't you?

And then equally optimistic, after little activity in the summer of 2006, that we would stay in the PL....

The truth is you cannot tell what will work and what won't - but bringing through young players from the Academy and on loan, plus a few older heads makes for an interesting time ahead. Can we not settle for that at this stage?

In 2005 2006 I was wildly optimistic the club was going in the right direction with talk of ground expansion, being another Arsenal etc etc wheres all that talk now Rother

Just to put the record straight Howe said the following in April 2007:

“The thing with Reading is it is probably the club with the best potential for drawing big crowds because of its location.

“It has a lot of assets so it can’t be bought cheaply, but the downside is the brand is probably not as big as someone like Arsenal.

“But I would say it has the potential to be bigger than Arsenal because its catchment area is hugely beneficial.

Ill-advised but nothing like the myth that has built up on HNA over the years.

And talk of stadium expansion didn't happen until October 2006.

And why??? Why has he gone from being one of our most consistent performers to someone who has struggled? Anything to do with the shite he has had to play with? How many CM partners has he had since Sidders??? Is it his fault that SSC and BR choose not to make the best of the assets at their disposal?

I am disgusted by the way the club has treated him. Or is it SJM's decision to get shot of him before he gets anywhere near testimonial range? Watch out Ivar, you're next for the chopping block!

Good passing ability, experience, positive influence to those around him. How you can say he never scores is worrying, he scored 25 goals in 300 odd league games. Liverpool ring any bells?
He was poor for the second half of last season and was made a scape goat, simple. I was in favour of dropping him then but to suggest davies, karacan, tabb or gylfi ( all good prospects) are better than him...dream on, not even close.

By no means am I saying they are better, but we have been carrying harper, like we did hunt, doyle, bikey. Need I go on. None of them performed for Reading last season, so move on.

Like it or lump it, Harper had served his sentence at Reading.

You call 18 goals not performing?
You call 17 assists not performing?

We didn't carry them! They carried us and when they stopped performing we started to sink like a stone. And look where we are now, 17th we're much improved without them.

Ok Doyle maybe not, but we all knew the Coppell regime was going to be whipped out, so get over it.

Indeed.

Season-long and half-season - have to be sorted out in the normal transfer windows.

Emergency loans - (30-90 day) have to be set up outside the windows.

But most of those happened before Xmas - after Xmas was definitely a case of not performing!

Maybe the tommy smith debacle has had a bearing on the current stance with Howard - ie nothing is sealed until those papers are signed!...

Correct. We certainly didn't carry them though.

January, I guess. But what would you expect him or any manager to do? Every manager wants their own people in, also when cajoled by the board to slash the wage budget then he's going to do it. Some of it is forced, some of are Rodgers decisions...the end result is a team that Rodgers wants himself and wants to be judged on. Nothing wrong with that.
