absolutely gutted about the result and the way that it panned out, but overall i think there are more positives to take out of the game than negatives. As said above, if we play like that for the rest of the season we will be comfortably safe, it looks like we have found our mojo again after that girthy break!

ManchesterRoyals
Libertine WTF is with the PL refs?!!!! :x :x :x :x

First it was Torres being a foot offside and now Ba punching a ball into the goal? F-ck!!! :x :x

We played much better and deserved the 3 points. Not much consolation for me right now. This league is tough enough, having to deal with consistent cock ups by the officials can't suck enough. :(

Yes, very disappointing right now. But at least the lads put in a great performance and are creating more chances. We're getting there.

Usually I roll my eyes a bit when all the papers and team interviews focus on injured players returning to match fitness, but in this one Kebe and Roberts were a huge boost, if only serving to light a fire.

The ref was having a great game until that equiliser.

Fooking terrible decision, and we seem to have been on the bad wrong of a couple of important decisions at cruscial moments.

Although we were better than we have been in the league for a while I thought newcastle were there for the taking and this is what will cost us dear. With this current squad we will go down. Some decent business will have to be done in January and BcD needs to learn how to integrate new players a bit better.

Still no clean sheet this season.

Yep...we were good. Good enough to win. And we did win that game as far as I am concerned. But instead of the 3 points which were ours we had to undeservedly settle for a single point.

Sorry right now I am struggling to keep a good frame of mind. With officiating like this it doesn't matter how well we play we won't be getting any of the results we have earned. :x

I figured we had got the one game changing bad call against us out of the way with that blatant Torres offside at Stamford Bridge which went uncalled. I didn't expect to see another bad call of equal ineptitude so soon.

Libertine - you're also forgetting the pen against Spurs that we should have had for hand ball.

Aren't these things supposed to even out? If so, a lot of good fortune will come our way soon I hope!

We were great today. Newcastle deserved nothing - but we've got to be a bit sharper defensively.

We'll win games playing worse than that.

Good finish. Not a lot McCarthy could do about that.

We are owed at least 3 points, and up to 5 by the football gods. Don't worry lads, well get it back. Things have a way of working out.

Unlucky guys...was it clear for the officials to see I wonder?

Notice Ba himself admitted the handball as well but like Crouch was never going to so at the time!

(Ofcourse no footballer would..)

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew: "We are struggling for rhythm this year, and are not playing with the same exuberance as last year and today was a sign of that. We can't rely on spirit all the time. No mistake, [Demba Ba's second goal] hit his hand. Shane Ferguson put the ball in a great area, and it hit Demba's head and hit his hand but it's about the delivery of the ball. Reading gave us a going over today, I have no worries about them staying in this division."

That goal almost fully encapsulates the difference between the Premier league and the Championship.

Wonder goal. Needed to get tighter and I think Cummings should have come across behind him, but you just can't take issue with getting done over with a goal of that standard.

I was actually expecting us to lose at the end and thinking this is why we'll go down, not taking the chances we have to put the game out of sight and getting punished by quality or complacency.

McCarthy should have saved the second goal. Way back in for Feds maybe.
