Just got back...that's why i don't go to many late kick-offs. Marked improvement tonight. The partnerships are starting to show. Pearce and Morrison are really starting to click, and Guthrie, Bridge and Williams are all linking up quite well. It really showed in contrast to Akpan, Blackman and HRK who haven't had any time together,
McCarthy - 5 - Had a couple of easy stops, didn't do anything spectacular. Marked down for his horrendous distribution tonight, as bad as it's been.
Kelly - 8 - Their game plan (in the 1st half at least) was to throw everything down their left at Kelly. He did a very good job considering the pressure
Pearce & Morrison - 7.5 - Worked well together, limited Leeds to long range speculators. Could have done better with the numerous free headers they had at corners.
Bridge - 8 - Excellent. Extremely comfortable on the ball. Too good for this level, should still be in the premiership.
Guthrie - 8 - Like a metronome, get the ball at the back, steady himself under pressure whilst looking for runners, fire the pass. Started everything.
Williams - 7 - Decent, lots of energy lacks a final pass/shot etc.
Karacan -

- Immediate thought was knee ligaments. Did my right knee 7 months ago, and his reaction was almost a carbon copy of mine.
Drenthe - 4 - Not everything needs step-overs, there are other players on the team. I really wanted to like this guy, but he's making it very difficult.
Blackman - 6 - One of his better performances, held up the ball quite well, but couldn't find a pass or get a cross past the first man
HRK - 7.5 - Impressed. Would like to see him in that position again. Would have been an 8 if he hadn't been greedy when he could have put Blackman through clear on goal.
Akpan - 4 - Scared of the ball, no eye for a pass but considering how long it's been since he's properly featured in the team, he didn't really stand a chance.
McCleary - 7 - Lively, big improvement on Blackman, more direct, looked dangerous. Deserves a start against Derby.
Le Fondre - 5 - I don't remember him making another meaningful touch other than scoring the goal.
Ref had a shocker, no consistency, crowd cheered every time we got a free kick (which wasn't often). Murphy should have had a second yellow 5 minutes before Warnock walked.
