Hoop Blah I think Rosenoir has pretty much all the attributes to make him an excellent fullback capable of performing consistently in the Premiership.

The only problems he has is that he's a bit too weak in the air, doesn't cover his centre back half as well as Murty did, and as gazzer said, he seems to have a real issue with staying on his feet.

Going forward he can be excellent, but last year he did let himself down with the amount of aimless balls into the channels. I'm looking forward to seeing how well he can adapt to a more passing game under Rodgers as it should see his attacking side come out and make up for his defensive frailties.

Spot on.

winchester_royal TBF to Rodgers though Floyde, leading up to the 1st game Cisse and Gunnarsson are currently the only CB's other than Pearce who will be available for Forest, therefore Rodgers probably feels as though he has to give them a go.

Or perhaps by now he should have signed a CB and CF?

I think he's probably working on it but the way the transfer market opparates you quite often have to be patient in order to get your man. It's almost a case of having to wait for the big guns to make their moves before player availability starts to trickle down and influence the availability of players in our market.

I'd rather Rodgers got the players he was after in two or three weeks time than end up with a player he's not so keen on, or even worse is just going to be a squad filler like Sodje or Bennett, by panic buying to get someone in now.

FFS. Our first game is against Nott Forest, Home, on the 8th August, KO 15:00, yes?
That gives Rodgers' 20 days (including today) to sign players.
I'm pretty sure you want us to sign quality players who will actually add more to our squad than dodd players who know oxf*rd all about football and how to play Rodgers' style.
20 days to sign at least 1 CB and 1 CF.
That's more than enough time.

"By now"?
Considering he's been with the squad for... oh, two weeks and has only seen them play two friendlies, do you think before Kettering he had enough material to allow him to analyse the sorts of players he needs to bring in?
Quit whinging.

I'll let you whinge about signings once the season starts.

Personally, I DON'T want BR to sign anyone until January. He can't know any of the players particularly well but knows we have some quality in both the first and reserve teams. It will take a while to sort out the best combinations. That may well take 2 - 3 months. Then he'll be able to determine where our weaknesses are and attend to it then. I'm not too worried about going up again this season either. I think it is very, very difficult for a new manager to achieve anything in his first season. However the 2nd or better still 3ed season is different and I would hope to see us back in the Prem.

Corky341 Personally, I DON'T want BR to sign anyone until January. .

That one quote makes you an instant knob.
We have a very weak squad currently & have no depth. How you think youngsters will get us up is beyong me.
We need at least 2 defenders, defensive midfielder & a striker. If we don't, mid table at best.

And that shows why you're the knob, not him. Because if you actually read it, it quite clearly states this season is an evaluation season, with maybe an influx in January that might take us to the top end. Followed by attempt at promotion next season and the one after if necessary.

I don't necessarily agree with that perspective at all. But Corky is certainly not saying in that post that the squad we have now is good enough to get us up.
