All very OMA-lite nasty imo.

Don’t get me wrong I think the blokes a tit but he’s in good company on here.

very unlike pepe, he seems to be the one driving this. Maybe pepe is OMA? ive never seen them in the same room together :?

Funnily enough there's a photo of us sitting next to each other at a kit launch. Didn’t know it at the time though.

Also, I'll bite to clear my good name. I'm clearly taking the piss. It's about as serious as me repeatedly snitching on WB for posting non European football content in the European Football thread.

You were doing that and Maguire was complaining about St Pauli reporting Karbota? Bloody hell.

I had a 'man came up to me in the pub' experience yesterday as I was wearing a Reading shirt at the time -

His grandson had been a mascot yesterday so he'd been in and around the stadium and had overhead that the players were told before the match that an EFL extension has been agreed

Make of that what you will...

^ what every one expects. The FL aren’t going to compromise the integrity of the season with just a couple of games left for everyone.

The club are now in negotiations with someone who is well known to the FL, and there has been movement forward to complete as apparently there was a survey completed on Bearwood last week, so they should be happy to extend to May 7th.

Don’t think they’ll make any statement on play off eligibility either, so as to maintain competition integrity.

Kicking the can down the road is the least worst option from an EFL perspective....

If the ownership situation isn't resolved by the end of the season, then anything that happens will have much less media attention...

If anything positive is to happen, it has to happen before the end of the football season IMHO...

That the announcement took all the pressure off them to play well?

Yeah, they have to extend to the end of the season. Kicking out now wouldn't just mess up Reading's season it would mess up everyone else's.

Reading will be given an extension tomorrow, as every one expects, you can tell as otherwise the FL would not have moved the Orient v Wycombe game on Saturday back to a 12.30 kick off a week or two ago.

Whilst we all expect the extension that is a fairly tenuous reason IMHO - that was always likely to be a game picked for the Saturday TV slot given Wycombe are challenging for automatic promotion - even if Orient were out of the race.

The "deadlines" were only ever there to try and push things on - no real deadline will exist until the season is done.

I do expect an extension until the end of the season, but looking on the bright side, if Mansfield was RFCs last ever game, at least we went out on a high.

Still think we will be excluded from the play offs if we make top 6 and if the sale has not gone through by early May.

I'm struggling with how you have reached that conclusion.

You think that the EFL having given the club an extension till the end of the season will exclude the club from the playoffs.

On what grounds do you think they would they exclude the club ?

For having an owner who is banned.

If they do it now, as they are entitled to, it messes up the integrity of the league schedule. Once that is not an issue, barring us from the play-offs is pretty logical, if a sale has not gone through.

Yes this is exactly how it will play out.

Dai has been banned since February and we are already in extra time....have to remember he's an individual who's signed nothing and 5 deals have already fallen by the wayside.

The integrity issue, particularly with what's at stake for Bristol/Burton at the weekend, will ensure an extension until May 6th, then if its not all done I'd expect us to be suspended with Orient promoted into the playoffs if we've finished above them.

I think the only way we'd be allowed to take part would be if the club can provide proof that it's just a formality to complete the sale. Having the deal collapse during the play-offs would be a nightmare for them.

I don’t think we'll make the POs. But anyone suggesting it's clear that the FL will/won't allow us in them if we finish 6th is kidding themselves. It's a tough call and no one knows which way they'll go.

Probably the best result for the sale progressing is if we don't make the playoff.

The league position should have no impact on negotiations. Whilst NDAs keep details private, it has been reported many times that the deal has add ons for promotion. If both parties agree terms, they can crack on and get it done.

Interesting, Rob Couhig was set to buy the training ground once before as Wycombe owner and again with his earlier bid which was ready to be signed so you'd think he would have had it surveyed at least once already.

I see five possibilities

1. The survey is for a different buyer
2. Rob Couhig is just checking it's all as it was before as he doesn't trust the current owner
3. It's a requirement of a lending institute the new owner plans to take a loan or mortgage out with against the training ground
4. Rob Couhig plans to immediately flip the training ground and sell it to a pension fund or something and then have the club sign a 100 year lease to rent it back.
5. Something else
