He did an interview with a Russian paper, no hurry to leave, and who can blame him?

the striker admitted he was on ‘not low’ wages and that there was no reason to look for a new club, despite a lack of first team action this season.

Pogrebnyak, 30, joined the Royals during the summer of 2012 after the club were promoted to the Premier League. Pogrebnyak also admitted in his interview that if he were to move, the only option would be to return to Russia.

He said to Sport.Ru: “Before accepting a particular proposal, you need to think first of all about your family. Moving to another country is a difficult process. In addition, there are important financial considerations. I have, shall we say, not low wages, and not all clubs are willing to pay that kind of money.

“Whilst I have no reason to move club, I will stay at Reading, and I hope we return to the Premier League. In short, I’m not ready to leave England. I like English football. If I decide to leave England, then there is only one option: back to Russia.”

Can't blame him at all. Absolutely no one else is going to be mug enough to pay him £30k a year to play football never mind £30k a week based on his recent displays.
How long's he got left on his contract?

It was supposed to be four years. Which means another one yet.

The decline in Pog's performances recently is disheartening. From his appearance off the bench on Saturday I counted about 10 touches, 3 or 4 were passes straight off the pitch..not to mention the open goal miss against Derby. What's gone wrong?

It looks to me that Adkins doesn't rate him and Pog knows he's finished. He looks like a dead man walking.

Contrast that with him early in the season. He looked on fire.

Shame, as when he's in form he's a quality striker at this level. Think Adkins putting Murray in as soon as he signed probably knocked all confidence he had and he's always been a confidence player. Oh well, Murray is better all round and I'd imagine his wages are quite a bit cheaper (when we do make his loan permanent, fingers crossed)

Can't fault Pog's honesty either

Pog's never really done it for me, I'm afraid. Ok he had a few games last season where he didn't look terrible but even then he just didn't score enough. This season, on the rare occasions he's been allowed on the pitch he's looked abysmal - dreadful first touch, can't time his "jumps" and can't even hit the target when my gran could've scored and she was last seen being gracefully slid into a furnace 35 years ago.
In the history of dreadful signings, his takes the biscuit.

Not sure how you can describe a striker who didn't score or create a goal as 'on fire'. Unless you mean he appeared to be running around ineffectually in a panic and flailing his limbs.

I like Pog, he does seem to try and you can see him get passionate at times, the West Brom winning goal for example.

But trying hard and the occasional passion isn't worth 30k/week, especially in the Championship.

I don't get the hate for pog. He never gets a decent chance and he's much better than murray (how many goals has he scored, considering it seems ge's started every game).

I actually like the Pog, think he's got a wicked left foot on him and don't like the abuse he gets sometimes as you can see he does a lot better when he's confident.

However, he's on big wages which are not merited by his performances and his all round game is lacking - eg pace, strength, heading and getting into scoring opportunities. I would say Murray has the better of him on all of those.

Also I believe Murray is scored about 4 in 8 apps now? Off the top of my head anyway, feel free to correct me if im wrong. A goal every other game is a good return. 40 apps = 20 goals.
