McDermotts thinking on Kebe?

by Cypry » 05 Nov 2011 07:04

Interesting to see Brian's thoughts on Nicky Maynard in TFLS yesterday....

When it was mentioned that Maynard was out of contract at the end of the season, he said something along the lines of "if he won't sign a contract then they should try to sell him in January".

Given the recall of Antonio, Kebes lacklustre performances and McDs thoughts above I'm starting to wonder if we've seen the last of Jimmy.....be interesting to see if he features tomorrow...

I don't think any football club can afford to ignore a player of Jimmy's quality while he's under contract at the club. Even if they try and give HRK/Antonio/Obita more playing time the ability for Kebe to do something magic would be foolish to ignore and a waste of the money we're still paying him.

If it's true that he's made up his mind to go elsewhere then I'd advocate selling him in January but then again if we're in a promotion race then you keep every weapon you've got to try and get you over the line.

If he does want to leave than surely it's in Kebe's interest to put the performances in to move to a club he feels he deserves to go to and also maximise his potential earnings.

Bollox mr MH, it didnt hurt Hunt, Shorey or Doyle did it, clubs paid for what the players had been and they hoped they would be again, Kebe will be bought because they know he can terrorise defences, and at the moment he is not taking achance on getting injured, he is playing safe, or he would be if he was playing.

as the founder of the kebeist religion i challenge anyone to love him as much as i, but hes hardly ever set the world alight, for more than a few games at a time

disagree mate. he usually has a reaaly good second half to a season. he's been unjured all this season, once he's fit he'll surely play, get confident and cane teams again

It helps when you've played week in week out in the Premiership for two seasons.

look i love him, hes my favourite reading player of the past 4 years, i love everything he does, including falling over the ball, just saying hes inconsistent.
i agree he will get better if he plays a few games in a row. but hes not even starting at the minute, and hes not injured anymore, and HRK hasnt played brilliantly for weeks

I want Jimmy to stay, i dont care if he's shit for 45 games. That one game he plays awesome in is worth the price of a season ticket!!

I loved Jimmy prior to this season Kebe

but if he's not signing I don't think we should play him

He doesn't look like he cares, and that's a huge shame.

tbh i think people are reading too much into his lackadaisical attitude, and lack of work ethic- thats been true for much of his career here. but if hes producing no one notices.
just needs to actualy get a cross in every now and then

Presumably he's on fairly decent money at the moment. Be surprised if he could match that in France.

My thinking on Kebe? If we could get 500k for him in the transfer window we should sell.
