Back from the game - Brighton (A)

by Silver Fox » 10 Apr 2012 21:30

Well, we're in the car but I always wanted to done of these.

Rode our luck a bit but Feds was skillz and kept a lively Brighton side at bay well and we could have doubled the advantage late when Pearce somehow hit the bar from a cracking header.

Lowly ground, very welcoming but cheers for the 3 points

Back at the hotel in Brighton.

All I can say is smash and grab. We were very very lucky to win and a massive thanks to A.Fed for keeping a clean sheet. He's my man of the match for tonight.

Roberts looked lively second half and how Pearce didn't score is beyond me!

Brighton dominated for the majority of the 90 minutes but we seemed fairly content to let them pass it around, they lacked the killer pass, and when they did breach our backline they lacked the finish.

For entertainment 6/10
For result 10/10
For my nerves 99/10!!

Got out of jail a bit with the pen miss and generally listless display but that's the sort of thing that gets you promoted.

If we do go up then that defence and particularly the back three deserve eternal kudos.

Mullins didnt really get in the game and Kebe was poor but fook it, we won.

Going up. Believe.

Still at the Amex- massive game. Absolutely rode our luck countless times. Midfield was none existent and melted away like a biblical parting of the sea. Worrying to watch and thankfully Fedders made a save against the odds. First he's saved I think. Brilliant and opens up Southampton on Friday to be finger licking good. A win is a win despite not dominating the game. Job done. Three points and happy days. 8)

Just got to say, doing 'back from the game' threads when you're not actually back from the game, is incredibly gimpish.

Must have caught 'ghey' down there.

Erm, I think no one's offered a back from the game opinion apart from the youngsters like SF and Mags that were actually there.. have they? No doubt RL will be along soon with an opinion tho. The schoolboys will soon rally around and do a bit of chuntering about "it's not right" but fall into line...

I'm happy to give Shackleton "The Shack" Royal the benefit of the doubt as he's in his hotel room. I dread to think of how much the hotel charged him for the wifi connection though.

+1 on the Federici MOTM award.

Scrappy football from us. Brighton played some good quick passing football with poor finishing thankfully. I think we mugged them a bit tbh.

Nice ground, good sound from the triple tiered stand when they could be bothered to make a noise.

Cheerleaders were quite fit. But my favourite was the fat one.
