That I know of there have been 4 goalkeeping blunders already in the Prem this season

Two by Feds, one by Green, one today for West Ham v Swansea.

There may have been others, of course, but I can think of these four without trying

Is it a new ball acting strangely?

Cech and Given today, too.
Tim Howard could also have done better with Villas goal too.

De Gea also made a mistake vs Fulham today, but by no fault of the ball.

And risk injury to key players for Sunday at Spurs?

And no to Feds playing, might damage his confidence if he thinks is being tested.

As we have seen many errors by keepers so far this season, some say the ball, but perhaps is as much down to the pitches early on.

The Spurs game is Sunday 16th September at home (19 days after the Peterborough game).

I doubt concerns about injury will come into it.......

I also suspect it'll be the strongest possible side - the more game time they get the better...

Surely give Roberts time if he's fit?

McD may experiment if Roberts is fit. Roberts-Hunt first half, Pg-Alf second?

I wonder, too how Robert-Pog would work

Would presumably give HRK a run out, Cummings, Marriappa, but whether he'd risk TWO CB changes, not sure I woul

windermere_royal we must field our first team now without another game till the 16th Sept

Good point.

Bloody glad there's more pointless fixtures such as internationals in this time, however. Two months after a major championship, we desperately need 2 international weeks before everyone has played their 3rd match.

Roberts has been abroad receiving treatment so doubt he'll be risked in a meaningless cup game

I think we'll need to field our best team (or close to) to stay in the competition. Just because we're premier league doesn't mean we're going to walk it The Posh beat us once last year (convincingly) and pushed us very close when we did win.

Decided to go to this yesterday.

Have no idea what team will play after Sats game called off but would guess it will be a fitness test for players not featured much, which still means a pretty decent team

i think its time we put out teams to actually try and win the cup competitions, unlike when Coppell was here,
we are PL now so theres no reason why we shouldnt actually win a cup now.

Agree with Windermere.

Our league season this year is going to be mostly spent scrapping for survival. A good cup run could ve the positivity the season needs. We saw with the fa cup in 2 of the last 3 seasons that a good cup run can help our league form, providing confidence etc.

I'd love to see Brian take the league cup seriously this year, realistically it's the only slim chance of silverware we have. Look at birmingham a couple of seasons ago, no reason we cant replicate that success.

That said, i'd imagine a second 11 much like the following would defeat an underperforming peterborough:

McCarthy
Cummings Mapps Morrison Shorey
McAnuff Ledge Tabb HRK
ALF Hunt

You wont see wholesale changes like that. Maybe 4-5 first teamers in there.

McDermott sticking by him will be proved in the Tottenham game. McCarthy would be in line to start vs Pboro even if Federici had had two great games last week.
