Be interesting to see if he can actually hack it at this level after all the hype on here.

My guess is they'll stabilise a bit, stay up comfortably and finish outside the POs / relegation next season as well. And at some point in the next 18 months be looking again.

Birmingham City have been charged by the EFL with alleged breaches of regulations. Multiple charges of misconduct relating to the failed takeover bid last year, with "the club and a number of other individuals" facing sanctions. Charges to be referred to an independent commission

TalkSport now reporting that QPR have made an official approach to hold talks with Charlton boss Dean Holden, so maybe GA not a done deal.

There must be a reason Ainsworth hasn't been seriously considered for QPR yet given he's an ex player and also how often they change managers.

Maybe he's happy managing at a club punching above its weight (even in L1) there's no expectation or big egos

Not sure he'd hack the championship even at a mid table side

Last promotion at Wycombe was extremely fortunate too

My understanding is he is just happy managing there and his family are settled and his kids are settled in the local school.

Seen this might have been Holden's agent being a bit naughty in order to get him a new deal at Charlton.

Hope it is true, big dog Gareth deserves better than QPR.

Seem to be a lot of fans up in arms thst Ainsworth might be off to his old club but has there ever even been a sign that he would be interested in the job, if we ever even approached him?

We couldn't in the embargo anyway due to bring unable to pay compo.

He has been interviewed for the managers job. I forget who got it instead of him, might have been Jose Gomes.

Not sure what the punishment may be or when it will be applied

Right, so he interviewed and either didn't impress at that time or Kia pushed his man. Maybe that process has put him off us as a club etc or if we had hired him then, he'd have likely been sacked by now.

I get why people like the idea of it but I dislike the attitude of some that all we have to do is ask and he'll come running.

I think he definitely got away with one by not coming to us. I worry about him at QPR for similar reasons, I think Ainsworth is your man for a long term project rather than an instant turnaround. I don't think he will get the time needed at QPR.

Points deduction would be another nice handy little cushion for us I suppose.

Ainsworth PR and media profile are excellent; his skills as a Manager are - at best - unproven.

Nearly not getting relegated from the Championship in his one season at that level doesn't sound like someone who is going to take us to the next level.....
