Brum charges are similar to those Rochdale faced and they got 6 points suspended for 2 years. Would expect the same, unless the EFL see them as a repeat offender following the FFP breach and decide to go harder on them.

As said above though, any penalty will likely only be confirmed after season end.

Scores pretty awful again tonight so far. Just hope Blackburn hold on.

Rotherham 2 up v Sunderland :o

Plus Burnley winning yet again, difficult game on paper ( 106 watch)

Rotherham winning but Blackpool and Birmingham lose so not so bad.

Looks like Millwall might nick 2 points from Burnley.

Wouldn’t say they were pretty awful

Stoke have got their act together, prob a better side than Swansea who seem to be pretty awful atm

Brum losing, Blackpool losing - both good. Millwall equalising

The gap with the bottom three remains at 10 points. So not too bad.

Worth pointing out Brum now lost 5 of last 7. Swansea 4 of 5.

Rotherham winning was definitely not good.

Ok Stoke are improving ( two goals from Laurent tonight btw) but they unhelpfully lost to Blackpool last weekend.

Most important result was Blackpool losing.

And Burnley dropping two points, their max is now 112.

Rotherham, like us, are capable of winning home games. Expect sides below us to pick up wins here and there, we will to.

Saturday big chance to open the gap again and move above a couple more clubs.

Huddersfield go to Burnley, Wigan at Preston.

Worth pointing out also, that over past 6 games of the bottom 3, only Wigan have clawed back any points on us. Given, we have only picked up 5, gives you an idea how poor the bottom 3 are.

Recent record is Played 6 won 0 drawn 1 lost 5 F 5 A 14, a run which includes defeats to Bristol, QPR and Huddersfield. Their next game is a visit from Wigan so hopefully it’s a record that won’t still be too valid by the time the Reading charity rolls in on Easter Monday.

At the end of the day, only 3 sides go down remember, to which I'd anticipate those 3 sides will be any of Wigan, Blackpool, Rotherham or Huddersfield. I don't think anyone else outside of those 4 teams will go down even though some are closer than others (Cardiff).

We just need to do our job on Saturday, take the points and be in a strong position. Ultimately, we probably only need 3 wins to confirm survival, I think we will probably win 3-5 from our remaining fixtures, draw 3/4 and then lose the rest. So minimum of 12 points which takes us to 53 and a maximum of 19 which takes us to 60. We will be comfortably safe with either.

The point was no need for some to be worrying because the likes of Stoke pick up results.

If the bottom 3 start picking up points at a much quicker rate than we do in the next half a dozen games, then there is more cause for concern.

I just checked the last 10 seasons (since 2012/13 season - ironically, the last time we weren't in this division....)

Of the 10 seasons, 41 points (which we have now) was enough (or would have been enough) for survival on 5 of those seasons.

Therefore, if we weren't to get another point, we have a 50/50 chance of staying up.......

Then, 44 was enough for a further 2.

So, if we get 1 more win we would have reached the level of 70% survivability.

Thats the good news......of the other 3 seasons, survival needed 49, 51 and 55 points respectively.

The one needing 55 points was the 2012/13 season; Peterborough went down with 54 points in 3rd bottom, with Barnsley surviving on 55. To illustrate how tight it was, Leicester got into the Play Offs with 68 points, with 10 teams finishing within a 3 point spread (58-61 points).

Marginally worse than that without points deductions (and ignoring goal difference):

12/13 55
13/14 45
14/15 42
15/16 41
16/17 52
17/18 42
18/19 41
19/20 49 (without deductions 50)
20/21 44 (without deductions 45)
21/22 38 (without deductions 48)

And Colin as come out and said Burnley are the best team to grace the championship in the last 25 years, it might well turn out to be true but it`s like 05/06 didn`t happen.

With 13 games to go they have scored 64, we scored 99, they have conceded 28 we conceded 32,, they have a GD of 36, we had 67. not even close.

Burnley destroying Huddersfield, 3-0 and as good as out of sight in half an hour. Hardly surprising given Colin’s really subtle team talk this week! Another Burnley goal conceded sees Blackpool go up to 23rd.
