People that think Southwood is the problem really need their head examining.
He’s a young, fairly inexperienced keeper, who’s been thrust into this side and by and large been
excellent, outperforming a full international who spent 5 seasons at one of the top clubs in Europe. He’s made a few costly errors recently, but which of our (more seasoned) players haven’t? I think castigating him is awful - especially considering how crap the defence is he’s facing more chances than otherwise may be expected. In fact, I would love* to see some stats of errors to shots faced, because I’d be surprised if they were anything out of the norm.
We need to be supporting our young players. To drop him for an experienced, ‘solid’ keeper would be bad enough, but for an untried teenager? I don’t care if he’s the second coming. Come on.
