A thought I've had about a factor as to why Savage is a permanent signing and not a loan. Are clubs now limited to how many players they can have out on loan at a given time? I know there was previously talk of it, but don't know exactly what the rule is or whether it's active yet (or was dropped).

There's this from January last year which outlines the changes being made, but affects international loans more than domestic.

It appears from reports in various places, that Man. U. have a first refusal, if an offer is made/accepted clause, in the contract. So, what happens to the sell on clause, if this is enacted? If he is sold for say 5 million, will we have to pay back the 40%, or whatever is in the sell on
clause, back to Man.U.? If so, that means United get their player back at half the cost than he would be to any other club.

Snowflake Royal Brebner was great

He was a decent guy as well and I got to know him when he lived locally .

Work commitments meant that I didn’t have a season ticket at the time but when I could get to a game I could just call him up and he would put some tickets in the office for me.

Was so pissed off he didn't seem to settle and we let him go for a pittance.

They would get 40% of the £5m. His open market value is probably somewhere between £500k and £1m and we've picked him up up for next to nothing. It's a pay off for getting him for fcuk all. We're gambling on him being worth £10-20m in 3 years, United are gambling on picking up £4m+ in the future for a player worth a quarter of that currently.

No I'd expect it to effectively be waived with the two clubs agreeing a fee whatever % below what the normal market price would be.

Bought for £300k from United, was generally outstanding and certainly the one player worth the money spent during TB's reign. Suffered a bit from homesickness allegedly and wanted to return north though overdid it slightly by going to Hibs for a small profit to the club after 1 year. He is now 45 and was last heard of managing Melbourne Victory in Australia before being sacked in April 2021.

Wrote his name in the history books by scoring the first goal at The Mad Stad.

Didn't he have a problem with gambling that perhaps contributed to him not settling? I know that in the twilight of his playing career in Australia he was banned for betting on games and made a statement in which he referred to previous issues that he had dealt with.

Nice to hear him mention Bowen in the interview, and also how our training facilities were an attraction.

Should hopefully be a very good signing for us
