Reading's record will always be the greatest points achievement, as they did it without a PL level squad and gazillions in parachute payments.

In fairness Ipswich have run it close this season...I think that would have compared to us.

If not exceeded it, as they basically have the same squad as last year in league 1

Interesting* little quirk in Ipswich being on course for consecutive 98 point and 96 point seasons without winning a title.

Hendo Sometimes I think about Sunderland fans when they had the record - they must've thought it would never be taken, only for us to beat it a couple of years later.

They beat their own record after a couple of years as well didn't they? Having taken it off Fulham?

Winners of Division 2 (2nd tier) since 1994

94-95 Middlesbrough - 82
95-96 Sunderland - 83
96-97 Bolton - 98
97-98 Forest - 94
98-99 Sunderland - 105
99-00 Charlton - 91
00-01 Fulham - 101
01-02 Man City - 99
02-03 Portsmouth - 98
03-04 Norwich - 94
04-05 Sunderland - 94
05-06 Reading - 106
06-07 Sunderland - 88
07-08 WBA - 81
08-09 Wolves - 90
09-10 Newcastle - 102
10-11 QPR - 88
11-12 Reading - 89
12-13 Cardiff - 87
13-14 Leicester - 102
14-15 Bournemouth - 90
15-16 Burnley - 93
16-17 Newcastle - 94
17-18 Wolves - 99
18-19 Norwich - 94
19-20 Leeds - 93
20-21 Norwich - 97
21-22 Fulham - 90
22-23 Burnley - 101

Wrong record I think it was the one Derby took off them for lowest points total.

My bad. Was it 15 and 18 in consecutive PL season or something ludicrous? I know if you added them together they'd still get relegated in any season.

Sunderland got 19 in 02/03 (which was the record at the time) and then beat it with 15 in 05/06 - which yes was their next season in the top flight.

Remember it well as one of my best mates is a Sunderland fan and he was going potty at the thought of their 105 points record getting beaten in the same season they were doing that!

They must be in serious trouble if they stay down. When the IDC's judgements are published on points deductions, they always detail aggravating and mitigating circumstances. What would it be for Leicester? 12 points for FFP breaches, doubled to 24 for being massive dicks about it?

If Leicester stay down though will losses in Premier League days count? So does the three year losses clock effectively start this season?

Not a clue, I doubt the EFL know either.

No short answer but a quick read around the subject suggests they'll be in breach regardless of what league they're in. They've busted the £105m over 3 years in the EPL and posted losses of £84m this year so clearly taken a giant dump on the EPL's allowed limit of £39m over 3 years.
