Pretty sure it’s to do with Level of Academy- although up until a couple of years ago all 3 pro clubs were seeded to the QF’s.
The league teams Academies coming in at the early stage has been a great success with large crowds turning up at the non-league grounds to watch them. Certain idiots from one club in particular- Maidenhead Utd are more than happy to slag us off for coming in at the QF stage.
