by Coppelled Streets » 15 Mar 2007 18:33

He'll be a free next summer.
Quite worryingly no news about a new contract thus far. :?

dump him? he's been a top striker for us this year and if we let him go then the goal tally would drop alot.FACT.

sometimes clubs buy players to replace the ones they let go

I was expecting a WHOOOSSSSH but it hasn't appeared.

If Lita can't be tied down to a contract by the end of July then offload him to avoid a repeat of the Sidwell situation.

Just to clarify, I'd love him to stay.

Don't no where you got your information from but I am 99% certain he signed a 4 year deal with Reading

Leroy Lita today confirmed his transfer to the Royals after agreeing personal terms and passing his medical. The details of the deal have now been disclosed and reveal that Lita will go down in history as Reading's first million pound signing. Reading will pay exactly £1M for Lita, who leaves Bristol City after a very successful start to his career where he scored 38 goals after turning professional in the summer of 2002. Lita takes the number eight shirt for the new season and will be hoping to put together a successful partnership with Dave Kitson up front. Depending on his appearances over the coming season the contract has a clause to extend to four years, showing Lita is a massive investment for the club.

So he is a free next summer then, but that's if he doesn't take the option on a 4th year? Or do we have the power to action that?

He'll do exactly what Sidwell is doing - another year with us and then to a bigger club with a huge signing on fee.

Lita was in Risa last week giving it large about how Man U had contacted his agent......

difficult choice for a young player stay at Reading or go to MU.

That's why clubs like Manchester City are bemoaning a lack of natural goal scorers? Why haven't they just gone out and bought one for £1M?!

It doesn't say that the enquiry from Man Utd was for Lita! I'm sure his agent looks after a load of other players too

interesting point! any one know who leroys agent is? tho its unlikely leroy would go around bragging this unless he believed his agent had been contacted with regards to him
