I recall in the World Cup the heat was used as an excuse for our poor performance.

In the summer, it would be hot, very hot in some places.
But 'the heat' was used as an excuse in the Germany world cup.

It might have been pissing it down but was it really that cold? According to the Met Office it was 18C in Norfolk that day (no temps for London).
