Bolton completely sold out their allocation, didn't they?

What? No? What's that, you say? Only brought 600 with them? Blimey, who would have thought it?

You have to be a grade 1 moron to consider a 400 mile round trip to watch Reading this season.

So, I'll see you there.

Was a game I wouldn't have minded going to, but I can't commit to Reading EVERY week. The cost, and work commitments, plus actually having a life means that home games plus maybe half the away games is all I can do. Credit to all you guys that do go to every game (especially at these tough times). I wish I could afford it.

airpun lol @ the plastics coming out with 'more to life than football' and all this other guff now that the novelty has worn off.

Thank you all foryour support, we'll see you in another 137 years.

I don't think we should all be expected to make our apologies for not getting to away fixtures, but for my part I made a pact with the Devil (who I am now proud to call my wife) when RFC were schlepping around the nether regions of the lower divisions that time, family and finances dictated that football would remain a "local" thing. This season has seen a tentative step towards breaking that pact now that the boy is old enough to accompany me on away trips. So, I fully understand why people don't make away trips, and you only have to look at the demographic of the away section at the Mad Stad (overwhelmingly 20-something males, whether it be Man U or Derby or anyone in between) to know that plasticity and novelty rarely come into the equation.

And how do you know it is the plastics?

After very nearly 40 years the novelty is beginning to wear off for me and spending time with my kids and their football is more important to me. For all of the recent achievements of RFC over the past few years, watching my son make his debut for our local club, albeit somewhat further down the football pyramid, will still mean far more to me.

40 out of 137 years is not bad in my book. Now who is the plastic, me or you?

airpun who probably is still at school with his part time job (no tax or NI) living at home (no bills) who gets a concession ticket and a place on the coach and his whole day is about £30.

Back in the real world, it's very very difficult to commit to every game home and away unless it is your only activity for the week. People with families/other commitments have no way of making every match.

Fcuk you newbie!

I was at Elm Park pre Wemberly thanks very much. And I was a season ticket in the 3rd tier of English football. And I didn't go to loads of away games last season either, because of the same reason as this year. In fact I've never been to 'loads' of away games, but I have been to some un-glamorous grounds and seen some stinkers.

Man, people like you that assume because you go to EVERY single game (I take you do?) you are better than someone who goes to only half the home games really makes me boil. Feck off to Aldershot.

Well said Rawlie. As it happens I am going to the game on Saturday....first and only away game I will go to this season. So what.. I am passionate about the club and always know the score, who is in the side and care very much about how we are doing...perhaps too much as there are more important things in life, like my partner, our kids, my parents, sister etc...etc....and chose to spend some of my hard earned time and money being with them instead. Even so I will support the club irrespective of which division we are in until I am six feet under.
