I'm quite cheery as there are only two games to go before the club can move forward.

I am not a happy bunny for 4 reasons

1 - My pay per view channel kept crashing every 30 seconds.

2 - Another inept performance from a team without the bottle for the big occassion

3 - The second half of the season...absolute joke

4 - The certain knowledge that the forum will be full of people certain we will win the playoffs

Given the long and not so storied history of RFC, its depressing that some 'fans' think that making the playoffs is depressing.

BTW, what are the playoff dates?

I just can't see whats happened to us in the second half of the season :?:

I went to the Norwich game last Monday and i thought we played really well, but today..???? enough said.

I think it will be very hard for Reading to even get to Wembley.

I think that at the start of the season if you had offered us the play offs and 4th we would have taken it. What p1sses me off is the failure to win ANY of our last eight home games, and the subsequent manner of reaching 4th when auto was - yet again - there for the taking today.

If we would won any two of the five we lost we would have been celebrating today.

What has gone wrong with the players' minds to not be able to beat the likes of Barnsley, Forest, Ipswch, Southampton, Charlton etc at home?

And I was supporting Reading back in Elm Park in the 70s to see us losing at home to Bishop sodding Stortford in the cup, so that makes the failure to reach the premier league all the more relevant and harder to take for me. Ihave had enough pain and mediocrity for the time being thank you.

Here's a thought - beating Forest and Ipswich at home would have seen us promoted. :|

I see them lose to bloody Hendon away, now that WAS depressing,at least we have a chance.

Agreed, from the position we were in we should have done better.

But, we didn't. And whats done is done.

I suppose if we had started badly and finished strong to get in to the playoffs, we'd all be feeling good right now.

But either way, regardless of what went before, the end net result is the same.

Dwelling on what could/should/might have been isn't going to help us now.

We're in the playoffs and its a new season.

As a fan for more years than I care to remember I just can't see us moving up through the play-offs, again today, as of so often lately we were outfought by a side that wanted it a lot more than we did. There is a part of me that says if we do go up then we will wont make changes we will go mainly with the squad we have got with the now well known words, "they deserve thier chance". That will be self distruction again, the bonus for me is that if we fail in the play-offs then, we can put to bed the "golden era" we have had over the past three or four years, we have been living on that most of this season ! Hopefully changes will be made throughout the set up from manager through the team, we have players here at the moment that just go "through the motions" and put very little effort or desire into the game. Birmingham played today like Sheffield United did, they really wanted it, we plainly didnt, and haven't for some considerable time.

IMO they play some of the best football I've seen in the Championship this season besides Swansea, not that that counts for much given how shit the league is this year.

Depressed yes, but we shouldn't of even had a chance today to go up, so it is no great loss today. Play-offs were always looking our best bet, and I think we can do it.

I'm not depressed. Basically the team we have is not fit for the premiership and i would rather we had a chance to rebuild next season, get in some better players and try and get into the premiership with a chance. We have a team that would get relegated two games before the end of the season at the moment. I don't want to see us getting kicked week in week out like last season, i want to have a chance, something to be proud of.
If coppell stays, then maybe he will improve on this season with a few decent signings, if he goes, well, let's hope Mr. Mads genius at picking managers will make us better. Remember when Pardew went and we thought it couldn't get any better?
