North end of your lounge more like. If you were there can you tell me how many fans were left when the players did their lap of honour and what were their names? (the fans not the players
I can tell you the players didn't do a lap of honour....

Well Marcus did, and then Doobs and Harps strolled round. Other than that they just stood looking a bit sheepish in the middle of the pitch

Yes embarrassing wasn't it

Was pretty disappointed with that poor attempt of a lap of honour. Appreciate they were down after the defeat, but it would have been nice for more than a couple of them to have put a bit of effort into it for those who did stay. We got more applause from Brum players at the end than Reading players.

Yes disappointed too South Lodnod

However, there was virtually nobody left (Reading fans) to salute to (a f11cking disgrace on most of your parts......some of you freely post on here....what was the rush to get home?)....and we still have another home game.

See what you're saying, but as they all came out it would have been nice for them to have acknowledged us that stayed in some way. Was a pretty good display from no 13 after all. But yeah maybe they'll get it right after the Burnley game...

I must say I was really disappointed with the players conduct after the game. As others have said there was no acknowledgement of the final whistle/final game (apart from play offs). Even if a lot of fans did leave, it would have been nice to see some effort being made. It always seems like Reading players don't do it, you see other teams players much more public in their appreciation.

AthleticoSpizz Sad to see so many "fans" missing (some of you have the gaul to post on here) when the Royals finally came out for their (non) lap of honour.

Credit to the Reading fans who had the dignity to clap off the Brum team.....and the Brum players who clapped back.

Been there, done it, both sides of the coin.................nice to be one of the football family

I'm rarely bothered by preaching but I feel I have to repond to this. I'm one of those fans (or "fans" as you put it) that left at the final whistle. I always clap the players at the end but left at the final whistle as they disappeared straight away. There was no announcement to say they'd be doing a lap of honour.

As for the 'dignity' part of your post, I walked back to the M4 and chatted and congratulated numerous Birmingham fans. It was the same dignity that was afforded to us at Leicester.

Coley Park is a good deal closer than where I reside on the South Coast and needed to pick up my dog from the vet after she was bitten by a snake the day before (seriously!!!!).

For the record, I stayed on to applaud the fans away to Norwich and Derby as I knew there was no rush as I had to book a hotel for each of the games. I presume you were there?

Now please appreciate some of us are real fans and not "fans". And, yes, I'll still have the bare-faced cheek to post on here. Moan over.

Why did anyone even bother with a lap of honour? For us it wasn't the last game of the season, it wasn't even the last home game of the season.

How about you just oxf*rd off? I left with about 3 minutes left of injury time, mainly because we were shit and the result was irrelevant. Why the oxf*rd would I want to salute a team I am going to watch twice (possibly thrice) more times this season?

They obviously didn't do a "lap of honour" if only 3 players appeared to be around - at the last home game of previous seasons there has been an announcement - if they'd given one, a lot more people might have stayed. We knew from the final whistle that we had at least another two games to play (including one at home) so why would RFC fans stay behind. And coupled with that, Brum had just gone up and were all celebrating, so how could our players have done a "lap of honour" anyway.

Maybe after the last home game a week on Tuesday, the fans should do a lap of honour for the players - cos we deserve rather more than the players do, for turning up week in, week out, home and away and witnessing some of the dross we've had to put up with.

Quite apart from it not being the last home game of the season, what has this squad done to be "honoured"? They are paid more in a month than many of the fans paying their wages will earn in a year, to do a job that everyone would love to do and that they have done pretty poorly for months.

I'll stay and applaud Coppell after the Burnley game but that'll be about the extent of my honouring.

They've done a lot better than many suggested they would, but I'd agree that a lap of honour yesterday was not necessary and the club should not have put the players in the situation they did. Even the ones who did stroll round looked as if they would rather not have done.
A simple PA announcement thanking the fans and reminding us that there was one more home game to go would have avoided the issue.

It stated clearly in the programme that the players would re-emerge for a lap of honour and it was announced on the PA prior to kick off. I agree that given the chances of our having another home game the club should have waited until they knew the result but I suspect that the police made them do the announcement prior to kick off to put off potential pitch invaders.

Whether or not we should have had a lap of honour the fact is that there was supposed to be one and the players were sent out to do one. Even Nunt hobbled out on his crutches for Gods sake. However once they saw that only a few had bothered to remain you can hardly blame them for hanging around sheepishly in the centre circle. Poor show IMHO which hardly boosted our chances of success in the play offs.

i did not stay for the "lap of honour" as there was no lap of honour planned.

the club said the buses would leave at the normal time (10 minutes after teh final whistle) unless we were promoted

had a lap of honour been planned then they buses would have been held longer even if we were not promoted

in the north stand around 50 minutes before kick off and never heard any announcement about a lap of honour prior to kick off

nothing on the website

don't buy a program

as the buses were only being held if we got promoted I think it is fair to assume one was not planned unless we were promoted
