Ark Royal A great last induction event and a good turn out despite the M4 chaos. Good to see Lawrie Sanchez, Les Chappell, Mark McGhee, Ron Grant, and George Harris's widow there in person to receive their awards and a nice video link with Dylan Kerr, who obviously still has a soft spot for the club. Due to the traffic, I understand that Nicky Forster only arrived as it was winding up.
Nice to see Sir John, Bobby Williams and the legend that is Mick Foster there as well. Cheers when Robin Friday was announced and the Friday family was there in force. Had a lovely chat with them and related the tale of how I got Robin's shirt, which was recently at the 150 exhibition at Reading museum. Genuinely moving to meet them. Excellent final additions to the HoF, but slightly surprised that Simon Osborn did not make it from the 1990s era.
That is it until 2032. Been a real honour to be involved with the project since 2016 and congrats to Paula, Roger and everyone at STAR for seeing it through to completion.

Agreed. Many thanks to all involved, brilliant idea and well executed. Out of interest might there be a subsequent publication or something to commemorate the names and stories of those entered?

Maybe a Royals Tapestry with the players appearing in chronological order with images woven together showing their career highlights.... A great crossover display for both fans of Reading FC and Tapestries.Green * Town Hall - people could visit after taking in the excellent Bayeux Tapestry replica

Would never have happened in his playing days, back then he always left too early, at least when running into an offside position.Ark Royal Due to the traffic, I understand that Nicky Forster only arrived as it was winding up.

That is a brilliant idea !
Needs a thread for ideas for avenues from our history to be immortalised in needlework.
My suggestions
- Bikey’s playoff tantrum at Burnley
- Murts bundling Kingsley
- the Watford ghost goal
- Robin and Lawro’s kitbag

Then when the first time machine is made, one of them goes on a joyride back in time to witness this but ends up in the 15th century where some chap called Nostrodamus steals his notes and starts translating them badly, making predictions about what he thinks will be world events instead of events at a football club, yet surprisingly accurate.Sutekh And in 100 years time, after the forthcoming collapse of civilisation and rapture event, people could find scraps of it in the rubble and theorise about a great civilisation that once existed and the fear it had of twin towers…

Maybe this can be done on a computer instead, Then translated into a tapestry if we can find enough blue and white cotton and someone prepared to make it.NamelessForbury LionMaybe a Royals Tapestry with the players appearing in chronological order with images woven together showing their career highlights....
