Karl Sheppard agreed to become a Reading player on Thursday, and the club's official website had comprehensive coverage of our new man's arrival.
Content moves quickly on the official site and across social media, so we thought we'd now round up Karl's arrival with a breakdown of his very first day.
Twitter-savvy supporters noticed Karl himself tweet around 10am to say he'd put pen to paper on his contract, sparking our fans on social media to congratulate him. Also giving him warm welcomes as he signed were boss Brian McDermott, Director of Football Nick Hammond and Club Secretary Sue Hewett in the coaching staff's offices.
While Karl was then tweeting to thank Shamrock's fans and was also being given his squad number 21, the boss was conducting his normal pre-match press conference and confirmed that all was going ahead with the signing. In the canteen, players were watching Jobi McAnuff on Sky Sports News as they had their breakfast!
After his media duties Brian introduced Karl to Noel Hunt, who in turn showed him around the training ground to meet all of his new teammates. As a fellow Irishman and also a former Shamrock Rovers player himself, Noel was the obvious choice! And our Reading FC Player cameras were on hand to film his greetings for some nice exclusive footage.
After changing into Reading training kit for the first time ever, Karl then took time out for a quick chat with Reading FC Player, his very first interview as a Royal, and spoke about why he's so excited to be here. In addition, Brian McDermott chatted with Reading FC Player about why Karl has come to the club.
And while all this was going on, Kaspars Gorkss chatted to press about the Watford game and Mikkel Andersen spoke about his new contract - again more pictures were tweeted.
Training began at 11am, and at that point club officials at the Stadium had also signed and submitted Karl's paperwork, at which point we announced the agreement, including a background on his career so far. News went out to SMS subscribers first, then straight away on the website, our Twitter and Facebook. News travels fast!
With the official announcement coming on the back of Karl's tweet and comments from media on both sides of the Irish sea, both @ReadingFC and @KarlSheppard10 were reported as trending back in Karl's homeland. For those not too familiar with trending, it basically means lots of people in Ireland were talking about Karl and his move to Berkshire!
As Karl was getting stuck into his first training session he was also being filmed by both Reading FC Player and the BBC, and we soon launched written interviews with both Brian and the new striker on our website.
Then, our videos with Karl and the boss also went live at lunchtime as Karl was still finishing off his shooting drills with the rest of the squad. As well as going live on the website, the videos were soon added to our smartphone App as well, another way for fans to follow the club. And as always a short free preview was added to our website homepage.
There was plenty more chat on social media about this new arrival, and one of the most interesting pieces was published on excellent unofficial fan site The Tilehurst End, an in-depth look at his career so far including photos and videos.
While all this was happening, our Facebook page passed 27,000 followers - perhaps a few more from the Emerald Isle! And one Irish-based Reading fan gave an insight on GetReading.
Last but not least, after training Karl posed for pictures both in the bootroom and by the training pitches, and the first snap of him was tweeted before a full gallery went live on the website and a photo was also uploaded to our Facebook site.
In addition, Twitter followers were treated to a picture of Karl's rather striking new boots!
And followers also got an insight as Simon Church and the boss caught up with Sky's Football League Weekend show as the press coverage at Hogwood continued unabated.
With pictures of Karl sent across to the Reading Post for Friday's paper, the newboy also had time for a phone interview with their reporter Jonny Fordham to complete a busy first day for our 20-year-old.

Maguire Sorry to revisit this but I honestly think the Twitter/Facebook RFC double-team is getting worse and worse, dragging the website into it.
There was an article on the official site the day after Peterborough saying something like "Fans respond positively on social media" and which then proceeded to list tweets from various spacker saying things like "Forever Royal, keep the faith, we r going up, URRRRZ!!"
IT'S GONE TOO FAR.
STOP IT.
