If he's got no money, I'd like to have no money too.

Right so why should we be worried? Sorry if I'm being thick but if he doesn't buy the remaining 49% of the club what will that do? Surely he would just have broken an agreement with Sir John? (I'm tired and finding it difficult to think about this..)

Much like all the whining and moaning about the original takeover and delays. Quit worrying until it's a couple of months late.

Maybe Anton's got more important things to do right now than complete a takeover deal that's perfectly secure.

Maybe we should stop looking for problems and wait for one to actually show up.

Good news bad news

Good news
-at last the smoke is starting to clear. 16 months is ample to get the finances in place.
Bad news -
SJM doesn't get his money
AZ is now forced to confront the issue. He doesn't have the money and daddy won't bail him out.

potentials
1 AZ will not come up with the money =SJM will regain control probably next year on the £1 rule
2 AZ comes up with the money , stumble from crisis to crisis= club does a Pompey
3 A serious buyer will come in to rescue the situation

Conclusion
Have no doubt either way AZ is on his way out. A buyer will now need to be urgently sought to buy out both owners (one who matches SJM stated criteria). The clues are all there

feel free to quote me and we'll revisit as and when

genome Just saw this on BBC Sportsday feed...

2046:
FOOTBALL

The deal to complete the takeover of Reading Football Club has been delayed.

Russian tycoon Anton Zingarevich bought 51% of the club 16 months ago. He was due to buy the remaining 49% from previous owner Sir John Madejski by the end of September, but that deadline has now past.

The club stated that both parties are "comfortable extending the deadline to finish the deal" but could not specify whether they would set a new completion date.

Full story is now here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24348285

View of the football finance expert is that fans should only be 'mildy concerned' at this time and that there are often delays in this sort of process. Also reckons that although Anton makes the decisions the money is coming from Zingarevich Senior and needs to be moved across.

And your 'potentials' are based on what exactly?
Has the so-called '£1 rule' even been confirmed by a reliable source?
And if Anton comes up with the money, just why does that mean 'we will stumble from crisis to crisis = do a Pompey'? :roll:

As I say thanks for quoting me - All will be revealed in the fullness of time. If I am right then so be it. If I am wrong then I will leave this board never to return. (no loss I understand)

last point - put your money on no/3 oh and if anyone knows if bookie will take odds on a take over within a year I have a 100 quid to go.

Who said that you leaving the board won't be a loss? No problem at all in you remaining, right or wrong. Actually you have to stay if you are wrong, so that we can quote you and take the P! :wink:

BTW your PM has totally lost me.

Lack of spending in summer;
AZ not at a game since early August;
TSI miss deadline to buy remaining 49%. Can't blame fans for worrying.

Also thinking back a couple of weeks, and Tim Dellor mentioned how the fans wont be interested in the clash of politics going on behind the scenes. Clearly all isn't well.

Extended-Phenotype What is the reason for the delay? Cash flow?

This is what I'm wondering. Tax reasons? Unfavourable exchange rates?

Ruh oh. You're not allowed to come up with any scenarios or some people start to have a little wibble. :roll:

What does Tim Dellor mean saying fans won't be interested in the clash of politics? Of course we're interested it's our club!

We didn't spend as required and promised. That's a fact not a perception. The reason behind the lack of spending, I agree, is a matter of opinion.

But with the delay in buyout you can't help putting two and two together, even if it may prove to make five. I think it's a fair enough concern, and think it's fair enough to raise on a forum, regardless of what the Operating Thetans want.

Like all of us you are often wrong, ST thread a few years back, we could get relegated we wont go up!! we did. How the club ripped off the fans time and time again, by asking for money earlier, it depends on the actual circumstances each season. Wrre you eventualy happy at getting Prem football for one season for the price of Championship football?

Didn't spend as hoped/promised != didn't spend.

You don't know what we actually spent. No one except the club does.

Page 53 actually :)

And I'm not saying you can't make assumptions, I'm just saying there is a tendency from a few on here to present assumptions as fact and ignore all other possibilities....

i.e. the takeover has been delayed which MUST mean Anton has no money, rather than the takeover has been delayed which COULD be because Anton has no money, but is just as likely to be for a huge number of other reasons....
