Old Man Andrews Good Lord it was embarrassing today. Club will have to pull the plug soon, novelty has well and truly worn off.

bobby1413 The problem is that the timing is wrong.
This would have worked in a season where we are top 6 and looking like possible promotion candidates.
Not in the back of near relegation... into a season where it's looking even worse.
The ground has never looked so empty for a sunny Saturday afternoon home game. It was depressing. West, ED both looked less than half full. Y25/26 dead.
Not surprising then that Club1871 can't get a raucous atmosphere. There's nothing to sing about for a start.

3points don't understand why they were so spread out yesterday? Literally didn't hear them once from the ED. If they came to the ED you'd get some more people joining in. I've said it before; it's a good idea in principle but poorly executed from the decision to isolate it in the South Stand (and it's costing the club significant revenue in away fan income).
There's so much space in the ED, try moving it for a game and see what happens.

Zip I actually like seeing a large away support. It improves the atmosphere and goads our fans into a response. Time to open up the entire South stand to away supporters again.

In the ED the only chant I ever hear is the bloody annoying ‘Blue army’.
When the East stand starting singing ‘Reading till I die’ yesterday I seemed to be the only one singing it around me.
The 1871 lot were non existent in the second half yesterday. Time for a rethink.

Forbury Lion I've noticed a few times Club 1871 doing things they said they were not going to do, instead of cheering on/supporting the lads they were having a sing off with the away fans and also singing the names of players not actually on the pitch playing..... Yes, by all means sing a song for Paul McShane if he isn't playing but only do so if you can first sing a song for the two centre backs who are playing as singing the name of someone who plays in their position and isn't in the starting lineup isn't going to go down well.

Sounds to me like no one really knows what they're doing. It's not even started with a clear agenda - just a few self-entitled fans who think they are closer to the club that the rest and that they should deserve preferential treatment. When on earth are they going to pack it up and get real? If the rest of the fans don't agree with it then something is clearly wrong!
Fold.
