Hemenbruff Royal Why couldn't they take the lower two 'horizontal stripes' right round the shirt to make a complete hoop, rather a plain white back. There is still plenty of room for the player name and number above if they did.

Which players will go for wearing the collar up in an Eric Cantona stylee?

Is it an actual collar?

from the back we will look properly like Leeds.....shame about full hoops, but pretty smart actually. think purchase of a long sleeved version of this will be in order, and probably not buy a new one for a couple of years unless a truly amazing one comes out. happy with that tbf

I don't like it at all. Not enough blue on the sleeves and the back is just plain wrong and boring. I see though that nothing has been said about the shorts. I would expect with the amount of white in the shirts that the shorts will also be white. Reminds me too much of the 1982/83 OSCA shirt and we ended up being relegated with that one.

Worth reading though...the leak could be the most excting thing that happens at the club this summer :D

New Reading FC shirt leaked for second year running

July 06, 2011

For the second year running the new Reading kit has been leaked on a website days before it is due to be released.

Royals fans flooded Twitter and Facebook last night with the images after stumbling across the 2011/12 home shirt, available to pre-order on JD Sports website – the same company who released the images early last season.

BUT

It's still better than looking all blue. That was just horrible and very un Reading. The return of the white shorts and white socks (to be confirmed) is epic. Just hope they don't piss about and go back to all blue again next year!!

 trying to keep it all a big secret esp. as the club had already given it away themselves to a lot fans with their first "teaser" image.

royalsroyalsroyals92 Not too bad but i just hate not having proper hoops all the way around! I appreciate for TV and such it isnt quite as easy and clear to tell which player is which, but it still is annoying!
+1

The premier league requires clear numbers, so no hoops/stripes...However we are not premier league and the club will obviously release a new shirt anyway if we go up so why not make full hoops? Also, why not just make a full hooped version for the fans and add £5 onto the price?

NOT TRUE

As disproved when we had this conversation last season. Do some Googling and you'll find a number of Premiership clubs with stripes and no back panel.

Easier solution would be to build a white border into the print for the black text.

Mike Hunt Thats fair - but if Reading do go up - you need a back panel anyway...

I didn't think that was the case?

Sunderland haven't got a back panel. It just seems something clubs do that pisses off fans. (Newcastle, Wigan, Reading to name three)

^^ this!

Then you'd get a hoop below and above and one or two that go around to the border and stop. Much like the 95 play-off final strip would do but not stuck on obviously.

Those clubs you have no problem reading the text, for some reason with our print it's always a little difficult for tv cameras to pick up the numbers. That's why we do it. Slave to the TV.

As much as I like it I'm still not parting with £40 for one that will be out of date in 9 months.

This is on the birthday list for £16.

I don't mean a white box.

I literally mean a white border like in that Sunderland pic.

Would make all the difference for the TV readability problems.

Even better. There's no reason why we can't do it. Baffling really. I'd love to know who it is that makes the decision at RFC and ask him.

No Fixed Abode LOL @ me drawing all these shirts we were going to bring out and then you want a Nike Sunday league shirt

I don't buy football shirts and I certainly don't waste £40 on one that is replaced in 9 months time. I quite like the look of that and for £16 my kids can get me it for my birthday. It'll more than do me m9.
